Flying one of these machines will be no different than wearing a sign that says "Dishonesty Pays".

I see with all its advanced-ness, it certainly breaks apart like every other heli I've crashed, if not worse. Love all the bent metal in the head, thats what, a re-kit? the bling crowd can't fly it with all those scratches, you wouldn't be the envy of the field anymore!

So Sad!!

I've been waiting more than 2 years for a DYD canopy(really I just keep trying to contact Dave and nothing, last email I was told that at most 3 weeks, and that was almost a year ago!) and these guys trash them all weekends!!

That's a shame!!

It looked very sweet!!

Alejandro,

I know, I know, but I really need it!!

Give me a break...when a heli smacks the ground with full power applied it is going to do some serious damage no matter the design. The pictures make the damage look worse than it really was. As hard as the heli hit the ground it is remarkable there was not more damage.

And that one hit pavement. (didn't it?)

I'd say it is safe to say that MOST OF US fly over a grass runway.
You'd have to hit damn hard to bust a head up on grass.

No, it didn't hit the pavement it hit dirt at the very end of the runway. He was doing a low backward flip when his tail hit the ground.

Anybody that has flown a all metal head knows that that is going to require a total new head. I fly a Synergy SE with the same type of two piece grips and have not put it in, but I have been flying helis for 12 years too. Look at the main shaft. It hit HARD. I bet it notched every bearing in the thing. Tons of those metal parts you think it din't break or bend you find out have been bent slightly out when you go to rebuild it.

I am not knocking the Aurora. I love the looks of it. I pre-ordered one a long time ago and moved on last February to the Synergy and love it, but this is the price you pay for a all metal head of ANY brand in a hard crash. ANY BRAND. I fly all metal heads too. We build them to fly, not crash.

Looks like that carbon canopy is one tough hombre. That is a DYD special.
