Align T-REX 600N 700N > T-REX 700N Plea to Canopy makers for an improved Trex 700 canopy - Check out the NEW CANOPY!

I got to see the Trex700 Nitro at the San Diego fun fly this weekend. They had the production canopy on it, and though it is an improvement over the eyesore prototype, there is room for further improvement.

Don't know why they can't make it look more like an Aurora or Synergy canopy - so those of you in the aftermarket canopy business should jump on this thing!

Personally I think it looks like they took a canopy off of a smaller fictitious 70 size heli and crammed it on the 90. It is too small.

One of the many advantages of a 90 over a 50 is that they are bigger and easier to see. This thing barely looked bigger than the 600N canopy. And the abrupt end at the rear just looks wrong. The 600 canopy looks better. And like I said, a Synergy and an Aurora canopy look far better.

Anyway, be the first to get a good looking canopy to the market when this thing is released, and rake in the orders and the money!

PREACH! I feel the same way Rockohaulic. I hate the fact that half of the machine is hanging out in the air. This is the exact reason I don't like the Avant canopy. I like to have as much as the mechanics covered as possible. It's more aesthetically pleasing. I don't need all the mechanics covered, but at least try to cover a little more than 50% of the mechanics. I had planned to try to fit a synergy canopy over it, but that's in the DISTANT future.

It flies, right? So let the canopy be. If it made it fly better, then o.k..

The 700 flies very well, but yes, that canopy has the potential to affect sales.

I have offered up my assistance, but it came on def ears.

But yes, they need to do something.

Dude that's Malorie Z's canopy.I stood next to her at a funfly and believe you me,she rocks that Bergen.I would never say anything to her face about her paint, she'd kick some butt
You get what you pay for.
Let's see what Dave can do with the 700 canopy when it's out.

Sorry but Bergen Canopies have got to be the ugliest around. I think they were modeled on the head of the Alien from Aliens the movie.

I like the Bergen its unique.I think from what I have seen the performance isn't quite there yet, the Aurora is far quicker and crisper than the 700. I am leaning towards the Aurora for this winters build project.

Yea, that's what I siad. Here's the deal. mold making is an expensive, time consuming operation. Unless your sure your going to sell a ton, and have cheap labor standing by to make the parts, its a not worth doing. With that being siad, the manufacturers can't seen to get it right. Even if they look good, the are not made well.

Its a problem........

When it come to designing the shape of the canopy, you need a designer(artist type) NOT a mechanical engineer.

In RC helis, they design the heli in Solid Works, cut parts and test fly, then, in a rush to get it out, the canopy becomes an after thought.

What they don't understand is that next to performance, looks is the most important feature.

Looks+Performance=sales.

I for one don't care how great it flies, if it doesnt look good on my coffee table, I won't buy it.
