From today.........no deshaker used, no camera operator, no monitor. Just a junker 6s Trex. We are working on an entirely new mountain biking area.

Very nice footage - incredibly smooth for straight from the camera. Music is pretty cool too... what is it??

That is great framing for shooting blind
I dont think I could frame that well even with a downlink and an operator

Darn impressive!

Where were you standing? Seems you travelled a long way in that shot - can't imagine how you were able to accurately gauge the direction the heli was pointing in the whole time!

Awesome

That does seem a long way to travel to be standing in one spot. I guess you could just Auto-trim the HC unit and "let it ride" but I have a feeling its those magic thumbs.

Yeah, i really love to hear how you kept the biker in frame, pure luck, or?

Did you stay on another top, above the bikers top?

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level and beat you with experience...

I was standing near the end of the descent, about 30ft below the ridgeline, this was the third take. The first two takes I was flying a ways back from the ridgeline, then I made an effort on the last take to be as close to the rider as possible. Depth of field is the hardest part in this scenario.

I track the rider by mostly looking at the heli, and using peripheral vision to track the rider. Then descending with the rider was the second challenge.

Great work!

I'm still amazed how you managed to bullseye the rider with no downlink.

btw...do you notice any flatening of color/contrast when using H.264?

Cheers,
Jeff

Yes. I always over saturate and increase contrast more than normal when I plan to export to Quicktime. WMV is less of an issue.

Mount

Hi Trackhead,
Do you mind if I ask what type of mount you're using on the T600? I tried a quick search of your posts but didnt come up with anything immediately. This is using your HC5?
Thanks,
Fionn.
