OK, we've both gotten too far off the topic of the thread, but if you'd like to go back to the topic, I'd be happy to discuss it.

So, what this deal with "Suicidal Voters" who are now turning from the Republican party to vote for Obama? Guess they don't care about all the points you posted.

Hell, even wackjob Ann Coulter has said she would CAMPAIGN for Hillary if McCain was the nominee...

Today's Repubs are intolerant fascists who dont even consider compromise. That's why they hate Old man McSame. He has tried to work with Dems in the past.

I can say one thing for steve, he is entertaining if not embarrassing. It's embarrassing that the world gets to see what kind of small minds we have here in the U.S. every time he posts, but once I forget about that then its very entertaining...

He's pretty good at regurgitating Repub party propaganda...

No matter what anyone (including the sadly misguided SteveH) says or does during the next 178 days, John McCain will not be our next president. Period.

I'll quickly, happily and joyfully put $1k into a mutually-agreed-upon escrow account against anyone else's $1k who's foolish enough to bet otherwise.

Any takers?

There is a possibility that Obama could beat McCain. However, he has no chance against Hillary. Virtually every woman, legal or illegal, in America, will vote for her.

fwiw..

Some kerosene for the fire, perhaps?...I'm reminded of another charismatic, masterful orator of some 69 odd years ago..He was skillful enough to plunge the world into a conflagration based on "change"..I see people praising a tinpot dictator in Venezuela, ex-presidents consorting with terrorists, politicians wanting to raise taxes during an economic downturn certain to get worse....All our current crop of presidential wannabes are disingenuous, hypocritical or stupid...At least one seems to have hit the trifecta...
Change is what american needs, all right...change back to the america of the 1940s..

A chinese curse translates to:"may you live in interesting times"..No doubt we are living that curse.

Jimco, I won't argue with you...none of the three would be my pick. However, if we don't vote at all, we will be giving up what little power we have left in this country, so I will be voting for the candidate I dislike the least.

I'm afraid my interest in American politics (and in politics in general since they too often are more occupied with grabbing as much as they can rather than actually making a difference) is somewhat less than my interest in not letting idiocy remain unanswered. I believe in equilibrium so you nutters just need someone to protest against your unbeliveably narrow mindset.

Where have you ADDED to the conversation instead of attacking others?

Hugo Chavez is my hero!!!!!

You should be proud of him for this. Arn't you tired of 5 Billion of your Tax dollars being poured into Columbia each year?

Your "hero" is one of the reasons for the battle in Columbia

BOGOTA, Colombia - Documents that Colombia says it recovered from a slain guerrilla leader give the clearest indication yet that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez sought to arm and finance insurgents across the border.

Chavez came to power in 1999. He then nationalized the oil fields. Since then, out put has dropped from 3.2 m/b/day in 99 to 2.7 m/b/day in 2007. Most of this reduction was due to him giving positions to friends, not qualified people. The USSR had an issue with that as well. Political favoritism got people jobs instead of qualifications....Yes, before you say it; It happens all over, but more so in socialist/communist countries.

Also, 2/3's of the oil he produces goes to the US. Venezuela produces heavy sour crude and the US is one of the few places that can refine it.

Chavez talks big against the US, but he depends on the US.

You should read my little write up on populist economics somewhere on here.

It applies to this situation quite well.

Well Ron. You see unlike these others I'm not the one that started accusing others for attacking the messenger while doing exactly the same themselves, I've just pointed out the fact that Steve and his peers are no better than any other in this matter, frankly they are worse. Actually these threads of Steve is nothing but attacks from the start to the beginning, at Obama or anyone that dare post an opinion deviating from his. So far I've yet to read any positive posts by any side in any of these ridicolous political threads. Frankly I cannot understand why Mark let them go on.

I've said it enough times, but I'm willing to repeat myself untill it's too tiresome. Why don't y'all go to a site for those that share your views and throw sh!t and "debate" that there and let the rest go about their friendly business....

Do you really think you can cough up all this cr@p and that no one will protest..

Supposedly a leftie :-)

If I was Chavez, I'd be helping the Leftist Rebels also.

The USA needs to get the HELL out of Latin America, and let the people run their own countries. Same goes for Iraq!!!!

Going with the old "But he did it first" defense? Did that work when you were a kid?...It never worked for me back then personally, and I don't tend to let it go now either.

In your *opinion*. See Steve and his ilk may start posts attacking a candidate...But you started by attacking them.

Your first post on this thread included attacks. So please...Do not try to claim any high ground there.

Quote

That is any different from your posts?!?!?!?! You first reply was to try to claim he was a member of the KKK. Heck it was in your first paragraph and you concluded by trying to call him a retard.

I suggest you then not participate in the *very activities* you claim to detest.

What value have you added to this or any conversation here?

Yet again you prove that you only buy into grandiose ideas without paying attention to the deeper issues.

You have ignored the rest of my post that explains that if it were not for the demand for oil growing...AND the countries ability to sell it *to the US*...His policies would have already destroyed his economy.

You think his supporting gorillas helps stabilize the region?

Actually I don't. But I also don't trust any information given to us that says Chavez is supporting Leftist rebels. The Bush administration wants to use that as an excuse to attack Venezuela to get their oil, just like he did in Iraq.

The only way I support the Leftest rebels would be if they get into power by democratic means through election, just like Chavez did in Venezuela, along with the many other Latin American nations now becoming Leftist. War is not the answer, but democracy is.

Dumb Bush calls Chavez a dictator, yet Chavez was elected by the people, for the people. That is true democracy!!!!!

Sadly, the Obama camp don't know what true democracy is here in the USA by him and his camp blocking Florida and Michigan to have a re-election for their primaries in order for the people to have their votes count. All the Obama camp and those that support this fool are worse than the communist.

Quite wrong, of course -- but not surprising coming from a welfare-scamming, member-threatening sociopath.

You don't trust any info? Or you don't trust any info that you dislike? If you don't trust any info...then how do you get data to make a choice?

Uh, both States broke the rules and were punished by the Democratic Party. The only reason Clinton wants to include them is they think it will help her. My opinion is they broke the rules, they should suffer the punishment.

I don't trust any data collected by Bush. Remember the mass weapons of destruction that Iraq had? All a bunch of bull.
