Avant Aurora - EFX - FX > Threaded inserts

DoodElite Veteran - Location: America's Dairyland -
Being an Avant owner (Avant EFX and very similar in layout and design) I know the only threaded inserts on them frames are for servo mounting.

Surprises me that a team pilot who has a PRODUCTION KIT (pre Las Vegas fun fly)
didn't notice there was a missing threaded insert.

Then there is the guy who bought Dave Botitta's PRODUCTION KIT, he made a build log with photo's that he has posted online.

I verified all threaded inserts were in place. Here is the evidence.
I'm not sure what to believe.

If any AURORA owners know of any other threaded inserts that I don't know about, please correct me.

It sounds like Avant RC is continually making parts, and some were found to be in error. It's not every frame they ever made. Unfortunately they found a surprise again, but I'm glad they found it before they shipped....yes they need a better set of eyes, or some more sleep. The parts I've seen are top quality...this was just another glitch in my eyes. Hang on, we are almost there!

I have an Aurora and yes you're missing some threaded inserts. There are two more inserts on the other side for the mixture servo.
You can one of them in the pictures that you posted.

Another glitch?

They spent 2 years getting it perfect, at least that's what everyone said...

I view this as another excuse/lie.

Heliproz has the carbon frames in stock. The smart thing would have been to ship the kits that were destined to Heliproz and inform them that the frames in the box were defective, and to add the frames they have in stock to the order. Then bill CX for the part. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks,
Ken

Yeah, I read your post on HeliFreak too. And no.

Supposedly, this would affect HUNDREDS of Kits.
HeliProz doesnt stock HUNDREDS of anything. Maybe 3 or 4 or maybe 5 of any 1 item. I've been in the store. I see how they have it.

Anyone who buys from this joker deserves everything coming to them. Next you'll be hearing about a recall ...... asking the dealers to ship all helis back because the parts weren't placed in the cartons in the correct sequence.

Couldn't the end-user drill out the frame themselves and press in the insert? It's not rocket science. Rather than blundering the situation even further by delaying again to fix all the frames, it seems to me it would have made more sense to just include with the kits a couple of the threaded inserts with a simple addendum to the manual.

Here's another post from quite a while ago... The threaded inserts are clearly there down on the bottom.

Nice pics dood BUT

there are 12 more inserts in the frames that you missed
8 more are frame stiffeners and 4 are for clutch alignment

And the framesets you are speaking of the "production frames" were the finalized design. i received a set at Vegas, Augusto told me they were the production frames and there would be no more changes. it was clear that they were indeed the production design but not the mass produced frames.
somewhere along the way somebody assumed that the they were the mass produced frames! chet

I think is time for servo manufacturers to design a new 3 bolt servo mount pattern to fit that sinthesized, minimalistic design, 3 holes Aurora frames, wow!.

Thanks for clearing things up, Chet.

But what you're saying is, the 'production' parts that Team Avant is flying now aren't necessarily the same parts as the 'mass produced' parts.
