reggie, how old are you if you don't mind me asking? i talked to you many times before about this.
I'll take a guess.....17 maybe. Your are tyring to go to big to fast. Go and read ALL of your Post. You don't need a .90 if you are still learning to hover. Fly what you have and learn. The esky is perfect for that.

ha ha...Thanks Shawn....u the Man....no i'm not gettn a 90..i'm gonna stick with my Esmart for now..& yes i'm still in my hovering mode...But hey,,,,,guess what..Many people's first Heli was a 90.....It's all a matter of what YOU want....if you want a 90....GET A 90...dont let anyone stop you....
But for what it's worth for me right now....The advise is well taken..i'm just gonna chil and maybe in a couple of months i'll find a really good deal on a 90..i just want to have one just for the sake of having one,,,even if i dont Fly it...so that's a Future purchase...i just love yappn and talking about it....

no But serious,,i really need to start learning Forward Flight..i do it on the SIM but how do you get to mustard up the courage to do it on the Real Heli...Do it do it while it's 3 feet off the ground or do i try it while it's like 15 feet off ground....I know the knob movements but im just Terrified to try it.....

I'll tell you what happened to me.....Well i was like you scared just hovering but 3ding on the sim. well one day my freind came over to watch me fly my raptor 60. Well he also watched me on the sim. So there i was "hovering" and going slowly foward and slowly backwards. My freind said thats not how you fly on the sim whats wrong? I said i was scared he said just fly like the sim. And thats what i did. Balls to the walls... now quit being a fairy! and go fly.

60's pretty big..I bet that thing is really Rock Solid in the air just hovering cause of the weight...

90 is scarry but sweet! I think every size has its charm.
but 90 .........wow! it gets your juices going. It can be fast and agressive , or mellow and smooth.

450 are fun, 50 nitros are exiting but 90.........its a diferent ball game.

You wouldnt regret getting a 90 except for the price of fixing it and the fast rate of fuel consumption! 90s are easier to fly than any smaller size they can be a little intimidating in the begining but when you get to stick a perfectly set up machine its almost to easy! I learned to fly with a Stratus, hovering forward flight, flips rolls, loops, inverted all that in about a 2 month period and I really believe the size and ease of flying a 90 helped me get along way in a short amount of time. I would practic 5 mistakes high!

Take offs are optional! Landings are not!

For your forward flight attempt. Just do it. Take it up in the air and go for it. I went through the same thing with my 450. I was afraid of it. Then I placed it like 50 feet away and I lost all fear. lol. Once it is far away, the fear goes away. When it is 10 feet away (like I see a lot of people do during take off), it can be very scary. It should be, I've read many post where the heli tossed a blade 75 feet, so if you stand 10 feet away and get hit, it wont be fun. plop it 50 - 75 feet away, and it is like flying a blade cp : )

Recently I crashed my 450 about 15 feet away and man it was a hard smack. I could not imagine a large heli so close, so I am working on keeping a steady distance away without losing orientation. Also it takes some experience keeping it away from you and going above your head. I think it should always be directly in front of your view. Never above and on side. It is easy for this to occur. Now that I am moving up to a larger heli, it should be a little easier to see far away.

You can easily get over the fear of the danger, but if you are not at a safe distance, the pain will be the same! lol.

Good luck to you. I would just get what ever you want. I think some of the older flyers know the deal and get big helis and planes as they are easier to see, easier to fly and by far easier to work on. I am getting sick of working on my tiny 450. But I do appreciate the 20.00 crash cost....

hey thanks for the advice. I really want to do Forward Flight really bad. I know how to do it on the Sim but yes, i just bought new blades and i'm afraid to do a forward Flight. I almost felt myself doin it today tho. But when i get to the point to sayin what the hell i prolong it another day. Do yes i agree, i just have to doit. Maybe i'll put the Woddies on when i finally attempt to do Forward Flight..But you know what bothers me,,,people say use a SIM,,,use a SIM....Well DAMMIT i'm using the Sim and i know the movement of forward Flight, so why dont i do it on the Real Heli...So did i really learn anything on sim or is it just being afraid is the problem....Ha ha...

I understand the fear of not wanting to tear the thing up but dont let it keep you from where you are wanting to go in this hobby! If you do your not getting the full benefit of it! Sure you are having fun and excitment in hovering but now its time to tilt that elevator forward and move on! To hell with the consequences!LOL!!!! It doesnt have to be foward flight! I suggest starting off in what ever orientation that you like to hover and move towards and and away from your take off point in a straight line until you get some comfort and then start using the rudder to slightly change direction! Before you know it you will be doing figure 8s! I would also suggest just staying high enough to get out of ground effect that way if you get disorentated you can bail out with a auto. I always opted to climb instead of landing when ever I got freaked! I would climb and get to the orientation that I preferred in a hover which was tail in and collect myself and move on! Less chance for mistakes while flying to low!

Right now i'm doing Side to Side. That's the most i've Advanced. I can go really high now but i really focus on the direction. Even side to side is a challenge. I know soon i'll be ready for the forward Flight. I do it on the SIM all the Time. Figure 8's is a perfect thing also..Thanks...Once i get to do those, then i have journeyed to another adventure in Flying, a new Dimension..ha ha. listen to me...lol

But seriously, i think within next week, i'll be trying this Forward Flight and i'll be sure to post when i do..

i have been flying a 90se since december. ive logged more flight time on my 90 than any heli ive ever owned. i absolutely love the way it flies. extremely stable and with a gy611 you can abuse the crap out of it and the tail never breaks loose. i wouldnt get a 90 until youre ready for extreme flying because to me it seems like whether youre hovering or giving it hell it consumes the same fuel rate. ive flown my 90 for approximately 6 hours flight time and once you get that confortable with a heli you'll be amazed how much easier it is to rip it around at blazing speeds. my 90 has 9255's for the head, 611/9256 for tail and a123 6.6v 4600mah. in the 6 hours of flight time ive never had a single issue. raptors may be getting outdated but they can still keep up with the best. when somethings proven...why change it? just make sure to do inspections regularly. i like the size of a 90 because you can fly it further away from you and still have great visibility.
