current setup:
trex 450se v2
hs-65mg's
s9257 tail
401 gyro

I put the 65mg's on last night and flew it with the hs56hb on the tail and it was just fine.
I put the s9257 on the tail just now and the tail is jacked up. I centered the servo and everything, but its acting like it wont go back to its original position. I can give left rudder and it'll spin and just keep spinning until I counter with enough right rudder to make it stop and start spinning the other way. (this is all on the ground, it wont lift with the tail like this).

Any ideas?

My gyro is set to non-digital mode. Can i set it to digital with the hs-65mg's and the s9257? Is that my issue?

Thanks

Looks like your servo or gyro is reversed...

no its not reversed, I fixed that issue. It wont center itself mainly. Its acting wierd. I noticed that my gyro isnt set to "digital" but the s9257 is a digital servo, should I set the gyro to digital? Is that the issue?

A couple of things. First the 9257 servo is digital so the gyro should be set to digital. Second is that the V2 I beleive comes with a 6 volt regulator. The 9257 servo is a 4.8 volt servo only. That may be you problem. You could get a step down regulator for the servo, or if you have a Futaba 9650 that will run on 6 volts. Chuck

well I got it to stay stable and do what its supposed to. The gyro needed to be reversed is all. But now you got me worried about the voltage. Is the align 35 esc a 6.0v or a 4.8? Most people I fly said it should be a 4.8.
Any thoughts or know how?

If you have a mulit meter just check and see what voltage the servo is getting. If you dont it would be a good investment. You dont need a $150 Fluke, a $20 radio shack will do just fine. The servo does need no more than 5Vdc for sure. Itll work great on 6V, untill it burns out.

If your esc is the 35x then it is the 6 volt one. If it is the 35g then that is the 5 volt version. Chuck

Bro, that is normal!

In HH mode on the bench, the servo will not center itself. Bascially, when you give rudder input, the gyro is expecting the heli to move and since it never does, it will stay at the last commanded position.

In rate mode, it will act fine on the bench.

Go fly that thing!

For the longest time I wouldn't worry about what my gyro did till I was in the air, I'd make settings on the ground and do mostly WOT takeoff's and go from there. There is something to be cautious about, one day I made a bunch of adjustments and decided to experiment with a new gyro setting. Well an "idle up" punch positive take off and all of a sudden I had tail wag from hell that almost caused a BIG crash (resulted in a minor tip over). Point is, find the happy medium. You can't make all your settings on the ground but don't just bounce up in the air until you're semi sure either.
