Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Not sure how much to sell my Xcell + TX for

Hello all,

I hope this is the right place to ask this question. I have an Xcell 60 for sale with a 10X TX. I'm not sure what the package is worth. I'd love to hear your opinions before I set a price and post the classified ad.

I've put together a web page with photos and all the details about the heli:

http://www.metacraft.com/xcell/

If you have a minute, please take a look and let me know what you think a fair price for the package is.

Thanks!

That's a little low don't you think??? I know everyone here on RR likes to get a great deal, but I'm sure it's worth more than that,,,,

You might get a better price if you break it up,, or try Ebay,,

By the way, Nice heli and electronic's,,,,, Good luck on the sale,, XGM/VGM

She is beautiful! nice canopy, who did the paint? I must attest to the quaility of MA Heli's. They are the Cadillac of helicopters. good luck with your sale, you should be able to get $800+ IMHO.

A friend of mine who paints cars for a living did the canopy paint and clear coat.

Thanks for the estimates so far ... seems like I should be able to get over $1000 ... there's a 10X going for nearly $400 on eBay used with no servos or RX, and there's 4 days left in the auction. Maybe you're right about splitting it up.

Radio is on ch 44 in case anyone's curious. I'll add that to the ad.

Xcell

I have been into buying and selling xcells for a long time as well as most every other kind of heli out there...I tend to change helis quite frequently.

My best guess is that I would expect about 800$ for that entire setup. If you sell it on ebay you may get 1000$ or more...but people here on RR like to get killer deals so I doubt you'd even get $800 here for that setup.

Good luck though

I thought about trying EBay, but I don't have an account there so I'd have no seller rating, which I imagine scares buyers away. Maybe I'll use one of the local services that does everything for you and charges a commission.

Would still love to hear other people's thoughts on what the heli and equipment are worth.

Thanks for the input so far!

Sure thing ... I'll do that when I get home this evening. May I ask why you need that measurement? You have me curious.

From the bottom of the frame where the gear struts attach to the top of the main shaft bearing which is at the highest point of the frame, is 225 mm.

(I went home for lunch and grabbed the measurement.)

Nice looking heli.

But as John mentioned, you could get a better amount by splitting it up. I do agree that the people here on RR will try and get the best for their buck, so don't expect a whole lot. Good luck on your sale.

Thanks ... maybe I'll separate them. I'm certainly willing to sell them separately.

Do you guys think I should sell the servos with the TX or with the airframe?

I guess I could just see what kind of interest there is.

well heres the breakdown if you were to sell everything separate here on RunRyder

airframe only around $250 to $350
engine and muffler around $100 to $125
GY501 Gyro setup around $75 to $100
V-blades around $60 to $75 since they're the older ones
servos are about $40 to $50 each exept the tail servo since it is part of the gyro

and the radio and receiver goes for around $300 to $400 nowadays since the new 2.4 GHZ is taking over, this prices are based on my own experience and doesnt mean you have to sale everything as i posted,

i sold an old X-cell with engine and muffler for $350 and it was in real good shape and picked up by the buyer,oh! and i sold a good condition X-cell 60 se for $525 shipped to Canada

good luck on your sale, set your own prices and hope everything goes well for you

The type of person who would go for the old xcell is unlikely to pay you what that 10x is worth. I would split it up or you won't get half of what the sum of parts are worth.

rcarlson123, split it up, airframe, electronics and motor. I had a blinged out shogun electric that I couldn't dump here for $100. i stripped it down to the last screw (Not saying you should do that, just an example that I have almost doubled my expectations on the sale) and have netted $178 on e-bay and still have most of the Heli. Don't take the beating on the e-bay service! Look at this as an opportunity to net a descent amount on your heli as well as get you an e-bay account up and running. As for people being skiddish about buying from someone with low feedback rating, I feel a lot more comfortable buying from a new e-bayer when they take pay-pal

I might be interested in the Airframe and motor if you do split it.
