You need two sets (or a total of four dampers). Double what the plastic head uses.

The most common configuration for 3D is stock dampers on the inside, then aftermarket dampers. I'm running mine with stock+Infinivation dampers.

someone people say to use the metal yoke and the plastic blade grips to make a weak spot in case of a crash. I have crashed twice with my heli since I've put on the metal head. I lost the usual flybar and spindle, but I bent the pitch arms only once and nothing else was damaged on the head. I know it costs more to replace a metal grip than a plastic one, but mine seemed to have held up well. I like the complete metal head set up I have and wouldn't have gone any other way with it.

I plan to make it all metal. I'll just wait till stuff wears out or I crash. Thanks for the help.
