A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, under the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

A NYT reporter has seen the whole scene, and addressing the biker, says, 'Sir, this was the most gallant and brave thing I saw a man do in my whole life.' 'Why, it was nothing, really, the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and acted as I felt right.' 'Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist from the New York Times, you know, and tomorrow's paper will have this on the first page. What motorcycle do you ride and what political affiliation do you have?' 'A Harley Davidson and I am a Republican.' The journalist leaves.

The following morning the biker buys The New York Times to see if it indeed brings news of his actions, and reads, on first page:

BIKER GANG MEMBER ASSAULTS AFRICAN IMMIGRANT AND STEALS HIS LUNCH

Is there any validity to this story? Without proof that this actually happened, it's just another story used to bash on liberals.... however, I wouldn't put it past reporters from either political affiliation to try and pull something like this...

TrexRookie, it's just a funny story I received that illustrates how screwed up the news media can be. Yes, it's a little extreem, but so is the liberal news media.

No matter what anyone (including the sadly misguided SteveH) says or does during the next 178 days, John McCain will not be our next president. Period.

I'll quickly, happily and joyfully put $1k into a mutually-agreed-upon escrow account against anyone else's $1k who's foolish enough to bet otherwise.

Any takers?

LOL, okay simpletons

Here we go again...only a simpleton believes that corporate owned media can be liberally biased...

so you take a left wing paper and then pretend that they represent the entirety of the media...only a dumb hick would fall for that

Here's another thing a dumb hick would fall for...Faux News being fair and balanced

At least the Chronicle doesn't PRETEND to be unbiased. Anyone in San Francisco knows what they are getting when they read that paper.

Faux News repeats over and over that they are "Fair and Balanced" yet they SUED for the right to lie on their network and won...

FOX news sued for the right to lie, and won
News – In February 2003, a Florida Court of Appeals unanimously agreed with an assertion by FOX News that there is no rule against distorting or falsifying the news in the United States.

Faux is a 24 hour opinion channel that pretends to be news, yet the uneducated (like Steve and his moron brigade) gobble it up like it's truth...

The true fool is anyone who'd give a grand to a candidate who will not win.

Who cannot win???

Running agains Obama, McCain will win. However, if Hillary gets the Dem. nomination she will be voted in, no doubt about it.
Let me explain.
Hillary allready has almost 100% of the vote in the female population, alone. Virtually all women, who go to vote, will blindly vote for Hillary, simply because she is female.
Women, no matter the race, are the single biggest unified minority in America. If Hillary runs against McCain, he will lose and I would absolutely wager $ on it.
Hillary gets all the womens votes plus the black vote plus the Jew vote plus the Hispanic vote plus every other minority. Obama will never get the vote from Jews or Hispanics, since these two groups are so fundamentaly racist against blacks.
I can't wait to link back to this post in 6 months.

Conclusion: bi-partisan media bias. It's complicated for old slowing southern white men, I know, but you'll get there. Eventually.

Ed,

You know, if you want to talk about news bias....we were in England and Europe last year, and when we were in Germany all there was for us to watch on TV in the evening that was in English, was the CNN English channel. I've never seen such an obvious anti American bias, pro liberal slant on any news channel in my life. No wonder you have such a twisted view of the United States of America as a country.

But, the fact remains immigrants keep flocking to this country faster than what is even legal, so it must be pretty good here compared to most of the rest of the counties of the world. Which by the way, was the thought we cam back with after our visit to your country and the countries we visited in Europe.

So let me see if i have parsed this correctly:

I, an english person, have a twisted view of the USA, because of an american corporation's output you saw on holiday in Germany?

And how does the above relate to the evidence that fox news is biased too and that such dishonest agendas are not limited solely to the news channels of a different political persuasion to yours?

I await eagerly.

Well, if you will check, first I never said that only the liberal news media was biased, and second, the CNN shows we watched were produced in England with English anchors, and we assumed written in England because it was definately a different CNN than we get here.

Oh, and one other thing, where did I ever say that I was 100% white?

CNN is CNN. Period. It may have different faces than the ones we're used to seeing in the U.S. but it's still the same corporation. So that being said, it is definitely NOT a different CNN than we get here.
