Ok then if its $$$ i will pay to get the good manual, if its even an option. If I spend $2000.00 for a heli i would spend the extra to put it together right and not be guessing on a small washer that does not show to go anywhere but does go somewhere..For my investment i want it to fly and not crash. If I dumb thumb it its one thing but if I have to wing it because of the manual and go down like a broke jack I'm pissed!! These manuals should also assume the builder has never flown a rc heli before. This is just my opinion.

If it doesn't fly sell it!

This may be over simplified but the only way to do that (pay for a good one) is for all of us to only but heli kits with good ones and tell em thats why we bought it

Some of you people better not get into race cars....the last funny car that I had, did not come with an instruction manual....and it had a price tag of over $100,000.

It's OK....It's not your fault !!!

Well, while we're talking about manuals, let's not forget the ones that come with our radios! The one for the 9chp sucks!. Guess that's why there are two books out there explaining what the manual should have. The 12z that I just got has a better manual, but still no cigar. I'd like to see a DVD done up that not only explains how to program it, but also what/when/where some of the really cool features can/should/why be used.

not likely.

It takes well over 100 hours to construct a detail assembly manual.

within a week of its release, it will be posted here or on some other lesser travelled site, or just emailed between friends.

Copyrights, digital rights protections, all that stuff is nice but enforcement would cost far more than the likely return from such a venture. Even a protected file would be printed out, scanned back in and distributed.

Works for the manufacturers because its part of the cost and adds value to the kit and can be distributed with the kit. The copyright is only an issue if somebody else tries to then sell it.

A venture to do standalone manuals (no matter how good they turnout) would be a money loser so unless somebody wanted to just do it for fun, I wouldn't expect to see too many of them.

Best manual yet

I agree with majority of what’s been said already however, the manual for Helimax's Kenetic 50 really raises the bar and should set the standard all the way across the board. This manual breaks it down kindergarten style. I could easily consider it as a helicopter manual for dummies. Its also available for download on the manufacture's website, which is an added bonus. Check it out when you have some time to spare. I give it two thumbs up.

I'll echo what Barracuda said. Audacity and Horizon put out great manuals. Align and Thunder Tiger aren't bad, you just have to be diligent and pay close attention to what goes where based on the drawing.

Manual

There is no excuse for not having an up to date manual with a purchased kit.
Somewhere on this web there should be a rating on kits and manuals.

Sure there is (a good excuse), we buy em ANYWAY! Heck the 600N could come with a book that said only
"Close cover before striking" and they would still sell!

FBoss, true very true, and very sad. I finally purchased my 5 year old the play set from Sam's $1200.00 and it had boxes labeled 1,2,3,4,5 and the instructions to match. The instructions said now open box 3 and everything for that part of the build was in box 3 and the whole build went step by step and turned out great. There was no guessing what so ever.
