I think I'm going to set it up for 2100 (IU1) and 2200 (IU2) rpm. What do you think?
How about 2100 and 2300

Hi Ron,

I don't think I have enough pinion for 2300. I only have the 15 tooth. Maybe I'll need to get the 16 tooth. I guess I won't know until I try it.

Thanks,
LJS

Thanks for the tip about the servos, i just used screws straight into the rubber, they have a large face. Almost finished the build, routing the electronics now.

I have a 14T pinion, will be flying 550MM SAB rotors, i think the head speed should be good enough for sport flying

Had a test fly, good thing i ordered the 15T pinion. Head speed feels pretty low with the 14T.
I don't like how the heli is angled forward as it makes for interesting landing, i guess i will get used to it.

Which motor did you end up going with? You were looking at the Hacker
40's, right?

I used to 40/10L 8P, they logo people in aus said the 40/8L 8P would cook the ESC even though the specs are the same just different KV.

I find it weird landing with the heli naturally angled forward

Believe you made the right choice. I had/have the 8L and everthing
just ran too high: rpm, temps, amps! Was told going down on pinion t.
would not have helped much. But it was a nice running motor, IMO.

Not sure what you mean on the other thing. Guess the canopy does have
a bit of a slope-down look to it.

When the heli is flat on the skids, the boom and rotors are not parralell of the ground, it is angled forward in an agressive manner.
