Going to the 7100's just for shaving weight or what?
Built in regulator?
the 7100 doesn't offer 2048 resolution, as far as I know, so that would be the trade off.

Main reason for going to the 7100 is to simplify things.

The 9100 has no built-in Rx's so it needs 2 external Rx's, only 1 needed for the 7100. I'd also like to loose the external regulators and clean up the radio tray.

I read that you were planning on doing that on your website/blog

Thats good news, Cameron. Thanks for clearing that up.
I'm surprised there is no mention to it being capable of 2048 res on the Spektrum site.

I am running the Flight Power 4300rx on my Stratus straight 8V with 8717's. I get 6 flights and am only putting back about 2000 MAH's.

Currently flying:
Trex 600N Pro, BW Stratus, Aurora Now!

I'm using 8V setup with two Regulators(VR5203-Spektrum)
and get three flights (max).

Out of curiosity, why two regulators? Gyro and governor/throttle? Why not just remove the two power leads from the gain channel for the gyro and the gain channel for the gov and plug those two signal only leads directly to the receiver?

Of course, you need to ensure the leads are plugged in the right direction first

The reason is that:

The Spektrum VR5203 offer Continuous current of 2.0 amps (3-amp peak)only .

Since I have many component that use lower voltage such as: Gyro+Digital Servo ,
Governor+ D Servo
and Carb Smart+D Servo

in my opinion 2-3 amps in not enough current .
