trying to figure out what settings/setup to run with my spartan on the beam, im running JR3400G servo, anyone have a successful setup for this combo?

What gain are you running?
What servo-hole are you using?
Advanced settings (I have the link cable)?

I am running that same setup on my Beam.

I used the closest in, stock hole on the servo arm
Gain is around 63-68% (Turly I started at 80%, slowly dropped it down until it stoped wagging). The only other thing I did was go to Bert Kammerer's site and down load his settings for his T-rex 450 and uploaded it to the gyro, made sure the gyro and servo were going the right way. Works very well. I have another Beam with a 401/9257 combo and it works pretty well but I prefer the Spartan. As soon as I can find another one I will be purchasing it.

Hmm, ok, I just did a quick test without uploading any setting (just adjusting endpoints etc) and I couldnt get more then 19% gain without wag, so something is wrong.

How far is your pushrod from the servo center? Whats your endpoint values (roughly)

Ok so that's what I get for going off the top of my head. The gain settings I posted are what the Futaba 401 is set at.

Here is what the Spartan is set at,
-heading hold gain 33%, Rate mode gain 25%.(On radio)
-Servo horn Ball mount is 8.80mm from center of output shaft to center ball
-End point is 110% on the rudder channel (For piro-rate)
-End point on the gyro software 122 low end point, 126 high end point

Hmm, I tried about same settings, cant get over 17-19% gain without wag.

Ive checked and double-checked the tail, its smooth.

Im running quite high hs though, around 3300ish.
I guess I need to throw it around a bit to see if it holds.

I am not running that high of HS, well I don't think I am
I have a Scorpion 2221-8 on 13 tooth pinon with TP 3s 2200 Extreme V2's. Tell you the true I have never check the HS. I think mine is around 2850 to 2900

Do you think it would have anything to do with the software upload I did that would change the gains from what you have and what I have?
