I have tryed the TT53 Redline and all was good for little awhile and then the carb barrel started sticking to a point that its beyond repair , no matter what I take apart and clean and lube and yes I know to how tighten it down on the motor to keep it from binding , mine is showed out its last time and back in with the Hyper ,I can say I never had a problem with its carb sticking but only bearings in but Im done with TT for now .

Oh what a feeling flying 3D can be

I'm back to the OS also, even after a YS50. The OS just is easy to tune and will run smooth at any speed you want.(os 8 plug, Curtis 30%) I'm using the Hatori BW, running super! The TT 53 does have a bit more torque IMO when lugged down, but I had some trouble with the midrange running a bit lean, had to over compensate with a too rich idle. I hope they get the carb. worked out on the TT, because the engine is a jewel otherwise. The TT runs best at higher head speeds, 2100+ but it's higher than I want to run.

TT isnt really known for their carbs. I had a 46 and the carb was bad out of the box. I caught them at a fun fly , they were packing up, and they would go into the truck to get me another one. I ended putting an os carb on it, and it ran like a raped ape. First and last TT motor ill ever own.

Have the carby replaced, I am fairly sure it would still have to be under warranty as the engine hasn't been out that long yet.
You might be lucky, that there is a version 2 now.

Their new carby is a completely new design from their past units.
It's bound to have some "bugs" to be ironed out.

In regards to the midrange, that's funny, mine is the exact opposite, the midrange is waaay too rich.

But mine is still running in.

If you had the barrel stick it is probably due to uneven tightening of the carb screws and also over-tightening of them. I suspect that even after you loosen the screws slightly the carb may have been distorted passed its elastic limit and is now permanently out of shape.

If it is not too expensive it might be worth trying a new carb and if space permits using a push-pull setup on the linkage to the throttle servo.

the os carb doesn't fit onto the tt53
speak to tt about any warranty on the engine , after all it does have a 3 year one
or try to hone the carb out a little so the barrel turns smoothly , just remember to clean it well afterwards

If the barrel binds mainly in one direction take a look at the very end of the wire on the spring. It is sharp and not beveled to allow it to slide on both the end of the barrel or the back of the carb. The end of the spring grabs more one way than it does the other. The old TT50 had the same problem. Lubricant will help but the problem will return over time. Try filing a bevel on the very ends of the spring wire so that a flat surface exists instead of the sharp end on the spring. Add some light lubricant to both ends of the spring, the carb barrel, and in the retaining screw groove. It should work smoothly for a long time.
