Bergen R/C Helicopters > Bergen/Something 50 build up.

Kind of a transfer over from the Xcell forum. I recently recieved a boat load of parts/assembled stuff from a buddy at my flying feild. I had originally thought it was all XCell stuff from what he says. But Safe_Cracker has put me in my place. Now the question. Can you guys help me out with this. Safe said the best thing to do is use the 46 frames and put a 50 in it. But then what do I do with the 60 frames? Also, I ordered some parts for the heli already (tailboom, boom supports, clutch stuff). But I need to know which torque tube will fit into the 27" MA boom. They've got quite a few different length but I don't know which ones fit. For now I ordered the respective 50 size copper tube. But I have all the stuff for a torque tube setup.

And lastly, where do you guys buy parts from. I have been looking around for a few days, but haven't found anyone that stocks Bergen.

Thanks, Nick

Dude...

Rick's is the best as far as MA parts.Just remember, the frames are made for X-Cell by Bergen. They are still considered to be an X-Cell.It was Bergen's answer to the bent frame problem.I personally like the Bergen frames but are a bit on the heavy side.I just sold one and I was the third owner, mannn that thing was tough as nails!I can't help you with the tube questions but if you give Nathan at rick's a call he will set you up.Good luck..

Thanks Safe, you da man. I was going to call Nathan today before I placed my order but noticed he's not going to be in. Once I get the whole thing together with the G10 frames, I will cut them into CF.

The heaviest part on the Bergen frame are those stupid frame blocks in the rear. I ordered this

as a replacement for them. But I don't understand the description. Is this only one? I sure hope not for the price.

Hey Jeff, thanks for the great info. Greatly appreciate it. Send me pics of your 50 if you can.

As far as the spacer, one of those weighs more than all four G10 side frame peices.

Easton 2117 Shafts??

I have been using fiberglass arrow shafts. Aren't the Easton 2117's an Al shafts or do they come in CF or FG RP? Can you use just Al?

TIA,

You don't want to overfill the case with to much grease or it will come back out. That bird has more miles than my sister !That bird will teach a couple more in the future(I'm sure my sister will to) and that Bergen drive is smooth. With a properly maintained X-Cell, they will last a long time.

Hey Safe, I picked up the CF sheet yesterday, got the frames etched in and drilled all the holes. Now all I need to do is take it to my buddy to get them cut out.
