Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > New Freestyle looking good!

Check it out, after test flying my Freestyle with the hideous standard canopy yesterday, today I went out with the Synergy canopy I got for it. Fits perfect, just needed to change the length of the standoffs in the front. Shame I can't tell which way it's pointing in the air, I've got to find another canopy that I can see, I almost dumped it 3-4 times today because I couldn't tell which way it was pointing. The good news is, it came home in the same condition, and I did my first 2 successful inverted autos today with it!

Nice LID! Oh and whats an inverted auto? It can land on the blades?

If it doesn't fly sell it!

No, flip the switch while you're inverted, then roll upright on the way down.

very nice

FYI, the Aurora also fits the freestyle

actually, the Aurora is almost too big (too tall), the belly hangs down a little, but it shouldn't be an issue.

It must be me, but i hate the way those canopies look (synergy/aurora), dont get me wrong, you can do what you want with your heli...but tell me, how can you not like something like this?

Nice paint job, but dear god, the Freestyle canopy couldn't be any uglier. If only you had put that same paint job on a good looking canopy. I remember back when it was first announced, I posted that I hated it, but I thought it would grow on me. It didn't.

I'm in the process of ordering a Rap 90 3d canopy from Canopy FX for mine, I like the one in the pic, but it's impossible to see (much like my Freestyle canopy, actually)

Most guys dont realize that the thing that makes the FS perform so much better is the canopy that DOESNT act like a parachute in backwards flight..thats why its so much quicker, besides being all around smaller.

I think everyone knows it, I just don't care with it looking like it does, and the canopy aerodynamics aren't what's holding me back, it's my own skills that are. If they hadn't given it that ugly chin, I'd be in, but as it is, the thing is the ugliest canopy on the market.

Luckily, there's plenty of different canopies out there for people to choose from, so those of us who hate that canopy don't have to use it and can still have the great performance of the Freestyle. The performance of the heli with a nice low profile canopy like the Synergy is still phenomenal, and I can have an airframe I like with a canopy I like. It may sound stupid, but if the only canopy I could use on it was the stock one, I would not own the airframe. I know it sounds stupid, but a large part of me wanting an airframe is how it looks. There's no shortage of great flying 90s on the market, why fly one that I think is ugly?

I like the FS canopy, it's pretty cool the way it wraps around, it's just different..

I'm going to repaint mine, it currently looks like the ads, I'm going to do something different with better visibility and a different windshield shape. We'll see how it turns out (and when I'll get around to it, I also have a Fury canopy for my Predator Gasser that I need to paint).

heheh good thinkin! I guess if yout not looking for absolute best performance, then the canopy doesnt matter, but man, i can feel a huge difference..my electric predator with about the same HP as the nitro, it wont TOUCH the speed!

Also, that "chin" has to be there to cover the fuel tank...

I just think they could have kept the tight nature of it with the wrap around back, and made the front more conventional, maybe make the front like a Fury. Oh well, to each his own, they wanted to do something different, some people will like it, and some won't.

Speaking of which, I am parcial to the fully, almost enclosed canopies and would like to know where to get one. Not scale but kind of like the Fai3 or something like that canopies.

If it doesn't fly sell it!

Are you talking about the full fuses that you see the FAI guys have like the gracy and what not? I know someone who bought a Blackshark fuse from Quick WorldWide, and is very happy with it on a 50 sized heli. I'm not sure where else, they don't seem to be that popular in this country.
