I initially used a 611 with a 9256 servo, a combination that certainly worked very well.

A few of my friends with Avros were using CSM 720s, these performed even better so I swapped and am pleased that I did (I kept the 9256).

Some had tried both, the 720 had a much crisper stop, a better hold in extreme maneuvers, and a much more consistent pirouette rate.

Hi Saleh,
I agree completely with Climax. It offcourse all depend on you flight style.
I am using the Futaba 611 together with the BLS251 servo and i am more then pleased with it. My flying style is Sport/3D so no hardcore flying.

Anyway, depending on your fying style you install CSM720 o the 611.

Saleh, I used the supplied tape which comes with the kit. functions well without any problem because the Gyro tray absorbes allready all vibrations.

Regards, Dave

See picture for my 611 setup:

I'm using a Solid G with a BLS251 and the tape supplied with the Avro. The Solid G preforms great, the end points have to be turned down because its extremely fast. I'm also using a ATG V3 governor that was just released.

I am using the JR 7703D with an 8900G and it is working well. It does some funny things every now and then but seems to work well and has a very consistant piro rate. I have it mounted with the tape that Blitz provides.

I have been thinking about putting a longer servo arm on the servo than the stock one that comes with the Avro kit so I can turn the travel limit down a little bit on the gyro (right now it is maxed) but I have not had a chance to try it. Anyone else try different arms on their gyro yet?

As soon as we get some Spartan's in I am going to try one of those on it with the 8900G...

Did you not like the 770 then

If you liked it, and it worked well, buy another one
Don't see the point in trying another gyro if your happy with the one you had in it.

Guy at our field had a perfectly good tail setup with a 611, swapped it for the 770, because it's the latest one out , and then put his 611 back in, because he preferred it

I'm running a CSM 720. Overall it's a good gyro, but I have noticed that hovering tail into wind I have a very slight wag issue. Could be a bit rich on the hover needle still, so next time out I'll lean it a couple of clicks and see if it makes any difference.

Also noticed the tail is not 100% smooth in slow pirouettes. You can see it 'stepping' on the way round. I have noticed this on other models with the 720's in.

I'm probably going to swap it for another gyro that I have, and do a comparison.

Let us know how the comparison goes Sean.

I am running the CSM 720 with the 8700G servo. So far it seems to be at home on the Avro. Every piro maneuver is as smooth as I have experienced.

The tail blades also seem to make quite a bit of difference.
