Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > 12z settings for spartan 760

This is a new radio to me. I have looked through the manual and can't come up with a definitive answer.

Should I have the AVCS gain at 50 to start with for the Spartan 760 with a BLS251 on a 600N? Or should it be lower to start?

I am not used to the AVCS setting where 0 still keeps it AVCS and 100 is full gain. I had a 9z before and set the gain for HH at 80% and 20% for Rate.

Anyways I don't think it would matter but some heads up would be cool.

Thanks,
Branden

just make sure your gyro led is lit (i.e in heading hold) and go fly. if the gain is too high it will wag as per normal or won't hold if too low. 50 seems a reasonable number to me to start wih. there is a lot of factors with gain so it's hard to you a definitive answer so setup a ball park and go from there.

cheers

Branden-
Could you please let us know what you come up with? I have the exact same setup that I will be trying out this weekend.

Thanks

I have 12FG + DS760 + Hitec 6965 running on my 600N. Basically the Gyro setup screen should be the same for both radio.
I have the gyro gain 32 in AVCS mode. Before I moved to 12FG, I have JR 9XII and the gain is around 73-74.

Since the gyro menu is similar to the 14mz I can tell you that I ended up with 34% AVCS on my 600N (mounted in the back) and 36% on my Vibe (mounted up front). If the gain is too high it will wag. If it is even higher it will start to buzz and whisle and you're going to think your TT is breaking. Don't panic, just lower the gain

Hey guys-
How do you have your gyro menus settings set up on the 12z?!?! This thing is pissing me off. should it set in AVCS or rate? with rate, I can get it LED on the 760 to turn on / off via the switch but in AVCS the light stays on regardless of switch position. LED-off on the spartan appears to be heading hold, correct... maybe i'm confused. Can someone give me a detailed rundown of the correct settings?

Thanks

AVCS always on at the % you prefer. Start with 40%

As far as I can remember, light always on means AVCS not Rate mode.
