| Hi, a friend of mine has a Blade CX2 with upgraded metal heads and a Bell Long Ranger fuselage. The heli will get off the ground but about 10 seconds into the flight, it seems the lower blade's motor looses power, resulting in an uncontrolled pirouette / descent back to the ground.
He thought it was a battery problem, but charging the pack makes no difference. It will also do it repeatedly, as in fly for a bit, and then pirouette back down. All the blades are in good shape. I tried spooling the blades up while holding the heli in my hand, and everything seems to turn normally, but the one motor looses power as if it's flying.
Does this mean the motor needs replacement? Or can it be a problem with the speed controller? Has anyone run into a similar issue?
Note: The fuselage does have a sizable hole in the bottom, so I don't think it's overheating. Besides, the heli used to fly normally with it.
Thanks for any suggestions about how to go about resolving this problem.
Gigi
My heli spending has gone way down since I got a Honda 919 :-) |
