e-Hirobo SRB Quark - Lepton - XRB Coaxial > Lepton can fly + - 15 degree

In the past 2 weeks, I rebuilt my Freya Evo90 and I found that it could fly + - 15* so I go back to my Lepton EX.

The only thing I need to do is to move the ball link of main blade grip toward the yoke.

At Swash Mix, Pitch % increases to 75% then you will have + - 15 degree.

I also installed 611 + BLS251 to my Lepton today ... see if can have 1st test flight tomorrow.

Why would you want that much pitch on the Lepton ?

Also, are you running a 6s or a 5s setup ? What Hacker motor is that ? What pinion are you using with it ?

Thanks !

With + - 14 degrees, Lepton pops alot better but with the Hirobo 64mm tail blade, it starts to bog. I will try + - 13 degrees and see if 611 + BLS251 can hold the tail.

Be honest, + - 11 degrees with ~2900rpm is very good enough for 3D already. For me, I am just doing it for testing ...

Wish we had a choice in tail gear sizes.

I'm running a similar setup to yours and at 2900-3000, you don't need that much pitch. I'm running about 12 degrees of pitch and this thing is off the hook! You're probably bogging the head with all that pitch. I would recommend trying 68mm tail blades. I got some from HeliDirect. They've been working great.

I am currently using the 70mm tail blades from HeliDirect. They say it is 70mm but actually it is only 64mm from the tip to the hole.

http://www.helidirect.com/product_i...roducts_id=4269

I just check their website again and they show they have a new CF 68mm tail blade. I am interested in it but not really trust it is actual 68mm from the tip to the hole. Hirobo has true 64mm CF tail blade which looks very good though.

In the past 2 weeks, I tried + - 13 degree, it was fun to pop but it bogs quite alot even I am flying 611 + BLS251. Very disappointed. I will switch back to + - 12 degree before I can change the tail gear ratio.

I am looking for a high tail gear ratio. There are 2 things I want to try.

1. HDX 13T tail pulley which gives 1:4.3 from 1:4
2. JR Super Voyayer E pulley 72T which gives 1:5.14

I really don't know how Hirobo makes 1:4 tail ratio which for me is not a very good try. 1:4 is very low tail performance. If we can have better tail ratio, we can fly high pitch with Lepton.

On the other hands, Hirobo usually plays around with different gear options so that you can change yourself. However, Lepton has been out for around 2 years, Hirobo only makes longer boom and belt but not the longer tail push rod in combo.
