I had to take my Tempest FAI head apart to change bearings. As I was putting it back together I was looking at the drawings in the manual (Drawing #1F). It places the #0848-3 Hinge Ring next to the dampener, and the shim (#0329 or #0331 or #0426) next to the blade grip bearing. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Its strange MA builds a great Hi end heli, but the Spectra G drawings SUCK !!! I’ve got both types of heads on my two G’s and the drawings just don’t match up to what I have, they haven’t been updated for who knows how long!! But they still sell new kits with upgraded parts with old manuals. So no Jesper i can't help you! iv'e got the same manuals as you i guess!!

shimI always flew mine with the O rings, shims, hinge ring, then bearings and it seemed to work best that way. Gordie

That makes more sens to me too, but it's not the way it's depicted in the manual. However, it seems that it flies ok either way. Thanks for your input.

The original spec on the head had the hinge ring against the damper, but after just a few flights early on we found that the shim against the oring was better for o ring longevity.
