| This is true.. Align will sell a ton of the 700's. But mainly because they are quick to market and seemingly quick to respond to repairs and changes needed as they arise. Not so much due to the They cut thier teeth on the 450 sized heli moving from vacuum cleaners to helis and they had some real shortcomings but they took the industry by storm.. The reason is cheap cheap parts compared to any other.. Man you get two of everything for the same price as one from most other mfg's.. The Align product instantly became the heli pilots little woman on the side, the Bic lighter of helis so to speak. Build it fly it crash it, rinse and repeat for cheap. The 600 came out with several problems for some but not all. I am still flying the original clutch for instance, and I have 1 with plastic fan and 1 with metal fan, etc etc. The fact is though they address them very quickly all things considered. I have a truck load of flights on mine and so far have only had to replace the main bearings, the grip bearings, I now run a QUK swashplate after wearing them out, gone to different dampners (who doesnt with any mfg) and obviously my choice of blades. All in all been a damn nice heli with great characteristics and can be tossed around with wreckless abandonment.
Anytime your airframe repair costs are less than the cost of replacing the blades you cannot beat that! I have crashed a few times now so I have a good base to build off of.
IF the 700 comes out anywhere near as capable, as competitively priced and with so few problems. Align has shown each time they do learn from thier mistakes. It will be an instant hit for anyone that can afford the costs of flying a 90 sized heli.
I still beleive there will be plenty for sale shortly after release when people (kids) figure out "wow! only 7 flights per gallon!!" IMO the sticker price of fuel will drive the majority of new comers out of the 90 market
