This thread is a complete waste. Regardless of the haters, align will sell thousands of 700N just like the 600N. The number of people who post here represents about 5% of align's customer base.

I was wondering the same thing

If I do get a 90 it may very well be the 700. I heard today that MSRP will be 699 with a lower street price. I also was told that the quality is there.... So we will see. I might not even get a 90 because glow fuel is expensive enough for me already.

And if I am serious with myself, my skill level doesn't necessitate a 90 either

Eh, I don't know about a complete waste... it is general discussion after all. But I must admit all the "how many" threads are getting old. How many this and how many that.

Aurora first, the guys wanting the 700N should hold out until 3-4 months after its released - there will be plenty for sale -used.

That's the truth. This thing is coming in at a price that is low enough that it will be a lot of people's first 90, not to mention the blind love that a lot of people have for Align that causes them to buy anything with an Align label on it. Those guys are going to buy it and not realize what owning a 90 is like in terms of fuel, crash costs, maintenance, and just the size and intimidation of it all. There will be no shortage of 700s in the used market, and if they are anything like the 600, after a few months when they are widely available the value will tank and will be cheap as well.

The t-rex 700n will have a list price of $799, which means that its just $186 cheaper than a aurora. How well it will sell will probably depend on its quality and availability of aurora kits and parts. If aurora are plentiful(probably not) and the 700n still requires $100+ of fan, damper and swashplate upgrade, then it might cost real close to the aurora.

Align die-hard fans will definately get it, but for people like me, I will probably sit and watch first.

I think you are underestimating the power of the Align name. They will sell everyone they make and there will be backorders for months. Even at the same price as the Aurora, I'd bet the 700N outsells it.

I agree with Eury

+ getting parts for the 700 will be as ez as buy a candy bar at the store.and i bet this the 700 will perform any maneuver the Aurora will, and heck im thinking my 600 will.

This is true.. Align will sell a ton of the 700's. But mainly because they are quick to market and seemingly quick to respond to repairs and changes needed as they arise. Not so much due to the They cut thier teeth on the 450 sized heli moving from vacuum cleaners to helis and they had some real shortcomings but they took the industry by storm.. The reason is cheap cheap parts compared to any other.. Man you get two of everything for the same price as one from most other mfg's.. The Align product instantly became the heli pilots little woman on the side, the Bic lighter of helis so to speak. Build it fly it crash it, rinse and repeat for cheap. The 600 came out with several problems for some but not all. I am still flying the original clutch for instance, and I have 1 with plastic fan and 1 with metal fan, etc etc. The fact is though they address them very quickly all things considered. I have a truck load of flights on mine and so far have only had to replace the main bearings, the grip bearings, I now run a QUK swashplate after wearing them out, gone to different dampners (who doesnt with any mfg) and obviously my choice of blades. All in all been a damn nice heli with great characteristics and can be tossed around with wreckless abandonment.

Anytime your airframe repair costs are less than the cost of replacing the blades you cannot beat that! I have crashed a few times now so I have a good base to build off of.

IF the 700 comes out anywhere near as capable, as competitively priced and with so few problems. Align has shown each time they do learn from thier mistakes. It will be an instant hit for anyone that can afford the costs of flying a 90 sized heli.

I still beleive there will be plenty for sale shortly after release when people (kids) figure out "wow! only 7 flights per gallon!!" IMO
the sticker price of fuel will drive the majority of new comers out of the 90 market

Align now has the formula on how to develop, design, and market their product. They also listen to Customer input. Repair cost is cheaper than most other competitors. What is funny is that they were/are vacuum cleaner company that cleaned up alright, Thunder Tiger was the first one they sucked up and now they are moving foward.

Never underestimate parts support. Without new parts your heli will not fly after a crash. CX has only had the avant upgrade before so no real history of mass parts manufacture for support of a heli. Thats the risk.

At least align has the size and history that has proven to us that parts support is some of the best.
Back order SUCKS. Make no mistake about it.....I have yet to see align parts backordered.

Nothing worse than waiting weeks for parts to get your bird back in the air.

I'll get one eventually but not the first batch. Align seem to be doing better with kits (500) and not needing to 'upgrade' stuff. I'm hoping the 700n will need few if any 'upgrades' out of the box.

Saying that once i do get one the 600s i have will get such a hiding, and the 450v2 well...

Amazing what a nice paint job can do !! I don't know if the difference is the paint or a new shape, but it beats the French's Mustard squeeze bottle design (my description) all to hell.

Now I just need one on my bench !!
