| I had the Tiger out last night to check some of the changes I have made. The latest changes include the hard dampers, Raptor green paddles on the Raptor 50 flybar instead of white and Pantera seesaw arms. The Pantera arms are a beefier part but without doing some grinding you can only use the outer most hole so it really didnt help. The orginal Tiger part it placed was warped a little so it was worth changing but from a speedup standpoint, it didnt do anything. John is sending me the 3 hole washout arms so I can move father in on those. There should be room for that. Headspeed is something over 1800 now. I dont know for sure 'cause I forgot to ask a clubmember to tach it for me. Anyway, it just keeps getting better. I havent ruined the Tiger's slow speed characteristics and it still hovers quite comfortably but it's getting tighter in loops and faster in flips and rolls.
It was interesting to note how the tail has become disproportionately faster as the headspeed has been increased. The perceived increase in headspeed from maybe 1650 to 1850 has been noticible and predictable but the piro rate seems almost twice as fast. I know, very unscientific but I've been hoping the tail would come alive and it has. Next time there's a club member around I'm going to increase headspeed to about 1900. I'll stop there until I get a governor installed to prevent unloading/overspeeding. The verticle was HUGE last night. The fact that the wind was HOWLING might have had something to do with it. It's been windy in these parts for days. Not great flying weather but at some point you just have to take what you get.
That polished off gallon #9, Wildcat 15% Helimix.
