JETMAN my bird was also used when i got it but there was some frustrations in figuring out certain things on the heli, but as everyone says once you sort it out it good flying.

Remember to try and heat up any screws that are stubborn as this will help to break the loctite which will make it easier to pull and less of a rounded head issue.

Raj the MA parts you quoted above i believe are the same one's bill quoted and its the same one i just received from Ron's.

JETMAN sort out your issues search the forum for help and enjoy your new/used heli

The trick is to learn how to tune the system, putting pressure on the clutch... After fixing a Spectra G for a friend, I found even though it had this on their sprag, apparently no one new what to do with it.

For your information, I was the one that let Ron know, to make up kits..

I own a Xcell helicopter so I was first upset as to why folks where complaining if this was used in their auto clutch ....
Now i see this has been their main problem as well, its just a matter of learning how to tune the auto clutch...

This has been the MAIN freaking problem with the PUH designs, EVERYTHING has been blamed on the engines, as it never was the engines fault to a certain point..

OK, thanks to this point all you guys, I got the machine fired up in the yard last night, man the engine rungs GOOD, so easy, just a heli and a TX is all I need, love that! Didnt leave the ground, it was getting dark, and I need to tweak the pitch and throttle curves alot yet, hopefully tonight after work!

I got mine used and it was perfect right out of the shipping box. VNDO is who I bought mine from right here on runryder. You will definately enjoy this heli. The feel, size and presence that these big gassers have is just plain ole cool. Can't imagine anything better.

Thanks! Im big into gas on airplanes, but this is my first gas heli, it will be nice not needing to take a flight box with starters and ignitors and glow fuel and all that crap along now! I knew after it fired up last night I was going to be happy.

Ive had alot of bugs, but Im getting very close.

OK, so I got a couple runs in it last night at the flying field.

Pretty stable, looks good, love not needing a starter, ignitor, and yay no more glow fuel!

I had a weird radio hit when coming nose toward myself, which makes no sense with the antenna on the front....

And I think I made it too rich, full throttle climb out, at the top cut the throttle it sounds like it wants to die/bog when I let off the stick.. any idea's on that?

PICS!

Hi Jetman

If you do a 30` full throttle clime out,and
then pull back the collective to a hover posission, your
engien should not die, that is a sign of a to rich,
high needle setting.
But during, engien break in I would run it rich and then
don`t do full throttel clime out`s for the first few tanks
at least.

BTW nice photos

Regards Bo

Ok, so it is too rich, these things dont burble like a nitro bird, or my large gas prop jobs, so making sure I err onto the rich side until I learn it.

Its had a few tanks in it, so its not fresh to me, but I am taking it semi easy on it!

I put my 2.4 RX in it last night, so Ill try it tonight and see how she goes now.

Thanks! Taking pictures is another hobby of mine.

My photos arn't as good as yours, but shows we have equal taste!

I waited for months to see if Century was going to restock this canopy and decided that I had waited long enough. So I painted my own. Actually got finished with the pinstripes this morning...

If you pointed the antenna directly out the front than it makes sense. If the receiver antenna is pointing straight at the transmitter it will have the weakest signal. The strongest signal is when the receiver antenna is perpendicular to the transmitter. That being said the signal should be strong enough when you are flying close in but remember if you ever get a strike or loose the transmitter single in flight try to turn the heli so the receiver antenna is perpendicular to you. That will give you the best chance of keeping the signal.

That’s why with an airplane if you were to loose your radio link when the plane is flying away from you, try to pull it up into a loop and roll level when it starts to point towards you. Even if you loose the link after that you have gained elevation and it’s coming closer to you. Hopefully you will get it back before you run a ground. I have seen people fly right out of sight because they didn’t know what to do.

Thanks Ace, it wasnt coming exactly at me, but must have been close enough, thank you! I put my 2.4 in it last night, hope that works out! Im going to really enjoy this bird, after getting it broken in and running good, time to flip it inverted.. Ill have to see if I can find any 3D info on this thing.

ALSO, what are you guys using for flexible tubing in the fuel tank?

Yea...After reading all the posts where recievers go into failsafe and crashes caused by possible switch failures, I decided to use a deans as my switch and use heavier gage wire. Now I don't have to worry about voltage drop at all. I have all my nitro's wired this way too. Plus I'm running (2) 16g battery feeds to the reciever rail. I'm hoping that this makes it "Bomb Proof"! It has so far!

And since I'm using A123 cells, 2s2p on my Preditor and 2s1p's on my Raptors, I can charge them @ 10a or more using the Deans connector. Makes for very quick and easy charging before you head out to the field.

I think a lot of people try to get by or really haven't figured up the amount of amps you can pull with a heli running 5 digital servos. Most systems are wired from the battery and thru the switch with 23g wire good for about 5 amps. It isn't hard to overload your wiring/system, especially on a ccpm machine where all your servos are running pretty much all at the same time. Hopefully this will prove to be a good idea.
