The field has been approved(TA-21). Can't do this on Sunday because that's Mothers Day (11 May 2008), so order your flowers now. Light rains or overcast this event will still go on.
Thanks

That sucks, AMA is required. I am new to this hobby and I am here at Ft. Lewis. I would like to see what someone else thinks about how my heli is setup. How do I go about getting a AMA membership so that I can come fly with you guys?

Rob,
Are the Ft. Lewis fields AMA sanctioned? If not, why require AMA coverage from pilots?

Why Hot Start Helis requires AMA.

Sam-

In the interest of not only personal property Damage but more importantly personal injury, we require AMA membership to be presented by all pilots prior to flying. Taking into consideration the area is acquired under our name we of course weigh heavily on not only safety but also the common sense requirement of insurance coverage, especially one that is so reasonably priced and considerable coverage. Finally, we are actively looking for a permanent home for Hot Start Helis; once found we will complete requirements to become a chartered club, so AMA it is. Thanks for asking.

-Tamara

It's been that way for months.

I just got back from California (Bay Area), and man was it nice to see the sun. I went down to the local field and hung out for a while. There were about 7 helis there, one guy was a very good flyer. Had fun.

Hope to see everyone on Saturday.

Jeff

Just wanted to say Thank you to all that showed up and supported this club event away from your families. We had close to 20 pilots and the parking lot was full of cars. I'm sure the kids slept good last night with all that running around. We had some amazing flying. Seen some new faces and met some new pilots/spectators. That's what a heli gathering is. But Its funny how is was sunny friday, cloudy saturday(Event Day) and sunny sunday. Gotta fly when you can in Washington. Sorry we didn't have time to grill but will during the HSH FF in June. Enjoy Mothers Day. Again thanks for all your support.

Thanks to Rob and the gang at Hotstart, I had a great time despite the gray skies.

FYI to everyone in the Seattle area, Joe's/aka GI Joe's has 10' X 10' canopies on sale for $49.99, they are a true 10' X 10' canopy. That's an excellent deal.
