I have a buddy that just picked a 620. It flies awesome however when he is spooling down the thing vibrates like mad. Almost to the point it is going to tip over. He has tried different blades. Weighed out both sets before installation. Weighed out the paddles and confirmed the equal distance there as well. Has anyone had this issue and what did you do to fix it.

sounds like one blade tighter then the other.

spool up without blades first...this alone decides if blades or something else.

I had the same thing happen to my swift 620 yesterday. This was on spool up about 50-60% throttle. everyhting was ok till that point then it was all over!!!! I did take it apart and noticed a slight wobble in the main shaft; however, I don't think that a slight wobble would cause such a violent shake! Any ideas? Everything is balances to the gram i.e blades, paddles, etc.

We tried loosening and also tried tight blades and still no help.
Will try the no blade idea. Thanks

Shooter, The first thing I would do is move the boom supports to the underside of the carbon tray right to the frame. Next make absolutely sure the main grips are smooth and not binding. If all is good with the head, try taking the head out (still connected to the shaft) and turn it 180° and reinstall it. One last thing....Some people have had problems with the CNC headblock not being true (different tolerances from one side to the next) so check that also. Hope this helps....Ron

Thanks

Where is your main gears? That could be your problem
Yes the swift hates to be on the ground! Mine had the shakes too until I changed out the landing gear and got the head worked in.
Just need to break it in...after a few flights all should smooth out.

I do think any wobble would cause any vibration that compounds exponentially.

Place on glass to verify straightness...it should roll smoothly and you should not see any light between it and the glass.

I agree with Pistol Pete....Main shaft should be perfectly straight.
Did you crash ?? Or is the shaft bent from the box

I used the T-rex 600N landing struts, they are much stiffer.
You will have to re-drill some hole in the struts to line it up.

Are you spooling up on concrete (or any other hard surface) or grass?

Ground resonances can easily develop with heli/blade combos. These resonances become amplified when taking off and landing on hard surfaces. Many real helis have rotor speed ranges that are marked in RED on their tachs to insure they are not ran in those ranges.

These type of resonances are usually the result of one blade having a different chord wise cg (sometimes span wise) then the other.

How does it work on the grass?

Pistol Pete,

I did roll it on my glass table and I indeed saw light when rolled.

Ravenhyper50,

Well I bought this bird here on RR and i was told that it was brand new never flown and only assembled, but I think he was full of SH#T!! I got the bird and the main blade grip arms were bent and also the fly bar control arms were bent. I assumed the main shaft was straight! You know what happens when you assume right??? LOL

Oldfart,

I did spool up on concrete, my gardner didn't come that day so my grass was way to long!!!! LOL Once he moes it Ill try that!!!

Ron,

Hey I like those skids!!!!

Heres some pics when the swift arrived to my house!!!

i just maidened my brand new 620 on 10 s today and the power is awesome but i'm haveing the same chicken dance upon spooling down, so far it has brocken 2 links and 2 tailblade set's i've tryed everything i can think of.and now i'm going to swap in a hv85 esc tonight,it's the only thing i can think of that can be causeing it, especally since i have had nothing but bad luck with castleesc'c in the past.and this is a new to century esc when i talked to heliworld when i ordered it, they couldn't tell me anything about since it was new and nobody had reported back on them yet.

Hey why would you think an esc has anything to do with a wobble? Curious! Thats the esc that Im using CC85HV.
