Gasser Model RC Helicopters > For Sale Vario Benzin Gasser

BrazucaHeliman - Location: layton,Utah - USA -
I am selling my nice Vario Benzin Trainer it is designed for the 23 cc Zenoah engine. This engine has been specially modified to suit the Vario Benzin Trainer and this is gasoline powered not “Nitro”. The engine produces its maximum power at a speed of around 9,500 - 10,500 rpm. Fuel required is an 2cycle fuel/oil mixture of 40:1 The gasoline engine features an integrated pull starter and cooling fan, which draws air over the cylinder head for efficient cooling.
It has lots of aluminum aftermarket parts from the nose to the tail, it has a Spektrum 7 channel receiver, 401 Gyro and Futaba S9001 servos all around, plus a K&N air Filter .
It is a beautiful machine very good for aerial photography and ideal for a scale ship.
I hate to let it go but I need money and I got 5 other helicopters.
Call me anytime if you have any questions my # 801-920-6139 ask for Fabio . Asking price $1500.00

PS. If you want or need more pictures just email or call me. I have more heli's for sale. I have some trex 450 with an EC-135 fuselage installed. Also have a raptor .50 brand new never flown complete electronics, gyro, OS hyper .50, Align tuned pipe. All brand new never flown.

SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD.................

I am not sure if you are aware of this, but it is not a Vario helicopter.

This is made by air star and is a copy of the Benzin and in some cases different machined items. air star used many Vario items as they were mixing and matching parts in the early days.

A true Vario never had purple frames or a metal swash plate guide.

If it was a real Vario I would be interested in it.

Best of luck

Ralph

So do all these metal upgrades make the copy better than the real thing?

I can see the red claw coupler. It looks to be a TT tail drive.

More Info

Hire there and thanks for your Post.
No it did not have bell drive, and Yes all the upgrates that I put on it is from plastic to metal the washout from Vario is plastic this is metal from Air Star International and it works more precisely.
I’m not so sure now, well I purchase this helicopter from a local guy here in Utah and came with Vario Benzin manual, but I did have some modification done to it, just like you talk about it I got parts from Josef Joebstl (air star International) But I do believe that the Helicopter it is a Vario, because the ball bearing and all the axes diameter match the Vario specifications but like you said the washout the tail system and the metal swash plate guide it is from air star International, and the reason I did that is because I spoke with Josef and I find out that they are better parts all along, Also I was having a hard time finding parts I do like this helicopter and fly beautiful now I understand preference and respect that.
But thank you for the info and I will take a closer look to make sure all that, when I send the pictures to Josef he also thinks that it is a Vario.

Thanks again Fabio Souza

Josef used to be the vario importer.

Joe Howard imports Vario now.

Search for the reasons.

This might be why Josef says that it is a vario, though.

Thanks

Well either way if it is a Vario or Air Star, still a great helicopter, I got the manual and all the original parts, I’m self employed and really hurt financially that’s the only reason I’m selling. One of my friends here in Utah Brian Bennett help me setup and there is nothing wrong with this bird. Thanks for all you guy’s info, but now my family it’s more important than my toys and I got too much of that. So If you don’t care of the brand and just want to have some fun there you go. Either way you will be able to find parts and fly. Anyway make me an offer and take home.

Once you get the parts installed and everything line up, they do fly great!

Good luck with the sale. I'm sorry you have to part with it.

air star

I knwo air star has a history....do we not all have a history somehowe.

Please allow me to state that the air star gasser is a great product and Josef and his team optimized shortcommings of the original design. I'm flying an air stare gasser for over two years now without any difficulties, whereas one chap on our field lost his Vario Benziner because of a head failure (a plastic part was failing). And by the way, it's very unpleasant if a rotor blade makes a fly-by of your head !

So consider a quality product over "plastic". By the way and just to be very clear, proper maintenance, setup and careful checking of the heli prior each flight.

Cheers - Surri

Blade grips or hubs do not partially fail! I have never heard of a Vario blade grips or hub assembly coming apart. The exception could be overspeeding causing failure.

There are many composite hub assemblies in commercial aircraft such as the Eurocopter AS355 TwinStar / Ecureuil 2 (AS555 Fennec}; Three-blade hingeless main rotor, Starflex glass-fiber/carbon-fiber hub.

There are advanages to composite parts over billeted machined aluminum. Further can be found at:
http://www.b-domke.de/AviationImages/Rotorhead.html. Just as a start compare their weight.

Do you have any idea on the amount of composite material used in new full scale aircraft?

Boeing's experience confirms a trend in increased use of composites. The 747, developed in the 1960s, had only 1 percent composites. That nudged up to 3 percent with the 757 and 767 planes of the 1980s and 11 percent on the 777 of the early 1990s. But the 787 Dreamliner, which has yet to fly, has fully half of its airframe materials using composites

I do not consider airstair has improved the product unless color is an important criteria. It is one thing to make and sell an improved part or parts as opposed to copying an entire design and selling it as a Vario Benzine - less documentation.

Perhaps you should be discussing ethics as opposed to unreliable heresay information. Love to hear more about your "chap" at your field.

The parts that I put on it works very well, this is ready the fly helicopter you don’t have to put anything else just your touch as far how aggressive you like to fly. I respect Air Star and become friends with Josef. Like very much the products that he has to offer, I wish I can afford to keep this heli, trust me I’m not very happy about having to sale this bird.

It is done

It is a Vario!! And I didn't know when that first guy said that maybe an Air star, but I check it and I was right. But really don’t matter it is sold and that person that bought also know that is in fact a Vario it’s going on Apache fuselage and I’m very happy that someone is going to have fun and put this bird on the air. I wasn’t trying to fool anyone and that’s what matter to me. Now the heli has some parts from Air Star and I had to do some modification to make it fit, for example this Gold Ring around the washout the shaft from Vario are skinner than Mongoose and there you go, that just put a end on this discussion about being a Air Star. I respect air star and love their products and will continuo to purchase from then.
But thanks for your comment and thy not to judge people, that was rude!!
