Century Hawk - Falcon - Raven - Predator > dual aileron servos on Hawk?

Are any of you guys running dual aileron servos on the Hawk? The gent I got my Hawk from had it set up with elevator servo in the middle, and an aileron servo in each outer servo bay (running on a Y harness). Looks to me like the linkages would be much nicer that way, and it would split the load between two servos. It would also be an excuse to buy three matched servos (probably going with Futaba 3050) for later CCPM conversion.

I just want to make sure there isn't something bad I'm overlooking with a dual aileron setup (other than extra weight and current draw of course).

I see no need for it and I also dont like or trust Y-harness's. I have seen them fail and had them fail on planes before not worth it to me.

Just my opinion, but I agree with Mutt. If I was going to go to that trouble, I'd just convert it to eCCPM, and be done with it.

Thanks guys! I did see a picture here of a neat CCPM conversion (home brew) that used bellcranks like the Swift, and had the three servos up top side by side. Looked very clean, and should I go CCPM I was planning on that method instead of the direct linkages like the Raven.

OK, I guess I'll just stick with the stock center aileron servo then.

Ah yes, thanks Dave! It was yours I saw the picture of. Very cool. So... should I go for that? I was eyeballing my Swift, and I think I could use a Swift swash and anti-rotation bit, with very few mods. Thoughts?

my 620 swash has the extra hole for a antirotation bracket. I'v e been thinking of trying one myself, since they are $39.99 verses $59.99 and they look plenty sturdy to me.

making it ecppm is easier than that

just drill a hole in the servo frame and install a ball stud and then attach the link from the pitch arm, now you can adjust the center of travel

then relocate the pitch servo to the top right side

You can say what you want , Just don't say it here!

but that's not 120 CCPM

I actually made it 90 degree CCPM with 4 servos first, but didn't like it.. I have pics of the 4 servo setup in my gallery also.

I havn't gone 2.4G yet but my 9C can do multiple swash types... that's how I was able to try the 4 servo setup first.

ZXXFlyer, that looks (and flies) great! Is that anti-rotation bracket an off-the-shelf item, or is it something you fabbed yourself?

Thanks... I'm glad you like how it flies.. It flew SUPERB straight out of the box and was rock solid.... and now with the hard dampers, 6mm spindle, thrust bearings, and eCCPM, it is like a fine race car. I just need to drop in a bigger motor.

the anti-ratation guide is a century upgrade part...
