e-E-Flite Blade CP CX 400-3D > Blade 400 3D Alternate full heads for the 400

Does anyone know of any other heli heads that will fit on the 400? I took a look at my trex 450se v2 a little closer and it doesnt look like it will be an exact fit. It could possibly work if you moved it over with the main shaft, but until I crash my 450 hard enough for a total rebuild, I wont know. I'm just so frustrated with eflight's backorder deal, and I'd like to get an align head or something as cheap. Maybe the MA bandit 450 head will fit...

most people are using trex head. just grind a bit off the top of the blade 400 main shaft and bolt on and adjust curves.

I just put the CopterX head on my Blade. It's the V2. Works great. It did slow down the headspeed a bit, but I'm not doing any 3D. You have to grind about 1/16 inch or so off the top the the Blade main shaft. I used the Blade swash and just swapped the ball ends on the inner section with the ones on the swash that came with the head. I'm also using the Align 325 carbon blades. The cheaper yellow and black ones. You also have to adjust the swash mix in the radio and the servo directions. Really just go through a setup from scratch.

I got it from ehirobo.com for $59.00 plus shipping. The only downside was, it took right at 2 weeks to get here because it shipped from Hong Kong or somewhere.

Are aluminum heads supposed to break less? I know that may be a stupid question but I am completely new to R/C helis.

ya, they pretty much never break, unless you are seeing how big of a hole you can dig.

they do bend and get twisted and sometime spindle and main shaft can get bent and hard to remove. That's if you crash hard, like inverted landing with full throttle.

I used the stock Blade400 main shaft. Just grind off about 1/16th inch or so off the top end, above the hole for the Jesus bolt. The v2 copterx head uses 4mm feathering shafts, just like the v2 trex.

You can probably put BeltCP CNC head on there too. They're clone of each other.

I don't know about the Align main shaft, but the copterx shaft will not work. It's too short. I just use a little Delta 1" belt sander to sand about 1/16" or so off the end of the stock Blade shafts. You just need to remove enough so that you don't get any interference with the flybar. Now, I'm not sure if any other 5mm main shafts might happen to work without modification. That would be nice and convenient.

Blade 400 3D What's up with parts availability?

Is there a website that we can get parts for the 400? Because I'm in the same boat here! I went today to 4 different stores looking for feathering shaft and they all said the same "we got them in order"
There a few things that I want to stock up just in case I hit the ground again, because I'm learning and I need parts so I can go out and fly (try) and not have to worry about it!

I think trex v1 feathering shafts will work. I have both of them at home, and they look the same. the V2 will NOT work though so watch out.

I just received the CopterX head and I noticed something. The antirotation bar is attached to the elevator ball link. So the antirotation bar would point to the front of the heli. I also just noticed from the picture on this post, the person used the Blade 400 swash instead of the CopterX metal swash. How can use the Copterx swash and move the antirotation guide.

I circled the stock swash antirotation bar & elevator ball link. I also circled the copterX antirotation bar & elevator ball link.

Chopter x does work

I have installed the tail and the head and it is great. I had to cut the blade 400 main shaft about 1/4" and it works great. The swah plate and shaft that comes with set will not work it is to short. I had to increase my head speed and it screams. You will have to take the balls off of the new swash plate and use the old one. Very cheap upgrade... Worth it..
