I just checked another set NIB and they have a small chip in the gellcoat in the leading edge - small but I'm not comfortable flying them in any case. Century are helping me with both sets. I suspect the sets may have been damaged in transit from the USA to me in NZ. Will let ya know how it all turns out.

Rotortech quality problems

I sent a PM to Century about a set of blades I got from a Rotortech dealer in the US. The quality was not 100%. After a few PM with Century they sent me another set of blades along with a pre-paid return slip. At the moment I do not want to go into details but the "New" set I got from Century had the same issues as my original ones. I will return the "New" ones back to them. I did let them know the quality problems with the blades via a PM and have not heard anything back.

The first time I read this posting I thought Century had a great Customer Service....I guess not.

Add another unhappy Century customer to the list

Amazing you pay $100 for a set of Rotortech blades and get customer service like that. I guess Century is going to learn the hard way. After reading your post I know, I would never buy there blades. I would have it least thought they would have sent you a PM back. If Century is not willing to stand by the products they manufacture the word will get out. All it takes is enough people getting the same service as you and it will hurt them right were it counts.

Poor products + poor customer service = lower sales.

Good Luck…

Century

Thanks man! Ijust hope this posting helps others be careful if the buy this product. You have to check your blades when you get them, if you are not 100% satisfied with the product you deserve to be heard and received a responsible answer. Just saying that "Our QC is 99.99%" and that "oh, you got one of the 0.01% defect" does not work.

FunTech makes both Radix and Rotortechs, when you have a problem with a Radix they do not go around making excuses of why you got a defective one. Century did send me another set, defective too. Not a NEW set NIP, no sir. The blades came with the plastic cover only and wrapped in brown cardboard. You would think Century would try to do their best to satisfy the customer. Are the blades going to fly better because of the packing material...? No, but I did pay for a set of perfect blades. If I had paid for a set of defective blades the history would have been different, but I did not.

Check your blades...you too might be in the 0.01%

Return

Blades have been sent back to Century. GrandRc has step up and solve this issue thanks to coping them on all this mess. If you are looking for TOP NOCH service go through GrandRc, no Bull service 24/7.

PM me if you need more details of how it went down.

PM's sent to this user name are not always being monitored by the right people within the company. The user name is being used by multiple personnel to monitor the forums, respond, and also advertising. Therefore, contact through a PM on Runryder would probably be the most unreliable way of communication with our support staff.

Ducati996 initially sent us a PM regarding an issue he had with a cosmetic blemish in that there was a smudge in the paint on yellow tip of one of his Rotortech 610's. This is being stated because this is not considered a defective blade and does not harm or decrease the performance of the blades. He had flown the blades and stated the smudge did not decrease performance of his blades. He was worried about the resale value of the blades so to try to provide good customer service, we sent him a set of brand new blades rushed via priority mail. This was to ensure he received the blades in 2-3 days. We even provided a return shipping label to get his original blades back to us for inspection. This was all done at no cost to the customer. The blades were hand picked out of the few sets we had left at the time and also inspected prior to shipping. The blades that were sent had all the packaging excluding the back card. It was excluded as we had packaged his blades with extra heavy cardboard so as to ensure the blades would not arrive damaged as they were going from California to New York.

Ducati996 has received a PM reply from us on May 10th.

Communication was being exchanged with GrandRC who is one of our dealers during this ordeal. GrandRC asked us to try to help the customer first, but if we were unsuccessful, GrandRC would try. In the end, we hope that GrandRC has satisfied the customer.

We should also add

The insinuation about the blades being fakes, that blades like that are only sold in Asia. Even though I sent pictures of the blades, the original packaging material and a picture of my invoice Century kept making reference to the blades as "IF" they were new.

GrandRc is working with me to solve the issue, but not thanks to Century in any way, but mostly because of the business we had done before. Never in our conversation I stated anything about the performance of the blades. The complain was about the "cosmetics" of the blades and the poor communication skills of whom ever was answering the PMs. I have other sets of Rotortechs and they perform good.

It is sad to read that the blades sent to me in replacement "for free" were checked before shipping. The blades DO have the same paint over-run on them and marks from the mold which are parallel to the leading edge. Sending the blades along with a pre-paid return slip is not going "above and beyond". Any reputable company would do that, companies such as Readyheli and Curtis Y. so Century should not be beating their chest about that. All through out the posting I mentioned the fact that Century send a return slip.

In the End GrandRc will solve the issue, in fact they already have, not because they already sent a new set blades, just because instead arguing with the customer they assume positive intent and work through the problem.

Feedback is a gift...Century should try to listen instead of doubting the customer.
