I'm setting up the magnets and they say to install them north face up on one and north face down on the other . Ok the magnets are not marked north ? I forgot how do you tell north and south on the magnets , do they push away or stick together ?

you can turn on the gov take the magnet in your hand and move it acros the sensor and it will sense in one direction and not the other
as mentioned above mark them accordingly.

The method outlined by george0079 is exactly right and it is the method I use. If you want to know why: Opposite poles attract. (We learned this a long time ago.) So, when you stick them together, a North and South are on the inside and a North and South are on the outside. When you mark the outside faces you are marking one North and one South. (It doesn't matter which is which.) Now when you put them in place with both marks showing, one is North and one is South. Guaranteed to work.

If you drill a very small hole all the way through the fan where the magnet dimple is, then the airpocket that forms behind the magnet will be expelled and they will stay put forever.

If you want to remove the magnet at some point a small nail or punch in the back through the hole will make short work of getting it out of there.

great idea on the air relief hole, they do tend to pop out (from air pressure)when you are trying to glue them in.
