Compass Knight 50 > Upper "mixing arm" holes

Hi all

i need some help... my knight 3d very mild at the moment. want to know which holes i should use on the top mixing arm(the one with 3 holes). bottom mixing arm is outside hole, and top is closest to the main shaft.

am i correct to move it away from the main shaft to get more sensitive/faster responce from cyclic?

thanks

You want the link from the mixer to the blade grip arm closest to the main shaft for the quickest cyclic. Also, on the washout arms, you want the balls in the holes farthest away from the main shaft, and then you want about 2000-2100 main rotor RPM.

motor still running very rich for break in...
I'll push rotor head up bit and see how things go

Another thing that I do to mine that makes the cyclic stronger, and the hover more stable is I use an Align 440 mm flybar. Some people find it helps, others don't, but it works for me.

or you can use the sport paddles and that will make it more stable also

only you have the power to make no difference!

Go back and read my post. I said the longer flybar makes the hover more stable AND the cyclic stronger.

I use the same ball locations as steve h plus 17 grahm paddles and when i whant to have some real fun i dial it up to 2300 .but for everyday type flying 2100 works good and the heli will last longer.

Head Speed

Ok.. Leaned motor out a bit... got 7 tanks through now...
head speed LOADS better, and now much more sensitive.

thanks for help

no need to be rude i was just stating that the heavier paddles also make it more stable. heavy paddles would eliminate the need for a longer flybar. your headspeed is also a big factor here. on top of that setting your cyclic pitch correctly is also a huge factor probably the biggest influence over the flybar and paddles.
if your not doing 3d turn it down to 6* and see how stable it becomes; if your are doing 3d turn it up to now more than 8* and it will still be stable and give better than align 3d.

Wasn't trying to be "rude", and sorry if it sounded that way. It was just that you seemed to have not understood that I said the longer flybar will make the cyclic stronger (faster), and the hover more stable at the same time. Heavier paddles will make the hover more stable, but at the cost of slower cyclic response.

I'm running Barely 4 deg of cyclic & flying 3D. Crank your cyclic down & just try it.

and one more thing "DON'T BE AFRAID!"

in my experience the heavier paddles (sport) made it more stable around the middle but still performed really well when moving the sticks. i dont use expo and it did seem to me very similar in performance to adding expo. (dont use it but have flown it)

if you decide you want to try it i will send a used set for free.

only you have the power to make no difference!

Thanks eyefly, but I have flown the sport paddles. Yes, they are not too bad, but I prefer the light 3D paddles with the 440 mm flybar. Just the combination that I like the best.
