Flybarless Rotor Head Systems > Removing pins from 600 headblock

I'm in the process of converting my 600N wiht the mikado kit and Vbar. I'm at the point where I have to remove the pins from the bottom of the headblock. How'd the rest of you guys do it? I know I can just cut them, but I'd rather be able to refit them if I decide to go back to a flybar. How'd you do it? I've tried heating it then pulling with some vice grips with no luck.

Hello

What I did was chuck them in a drill and twisted them out They should come out with no issues at all.

That's a good idea, never thought of that.

Much as I tried to heat and twist these pins, I could never get them out. I finally just cut them off with a dremel cutting wheel. Only problem is I will need to buy a new head block (w/pins) if I want to go back to a flybar setup.

Cheers,
TomC

Heat

The secret to remove them is to heat to 125C - 150C and they will be easier to remove

I heated mine and could never get them to come out, first I tried with a soldering iron on the pins with no luck, then got pissed and used a torch, and neither worked. FInally I got pissed and cut them.

I must have got lucky. I put some heat to them and clamped the pin in a vise and twisted the block and the pins came out. I bent the crap out of one getting it out, but I said good riddins.
