Hey every one,
I've been flying my Belt-CP for just over 3 months now and loved every moment of it (well, other than the waiting for parts). Im starting to look for my next heli. Right now I'm looking at the T-rex 500 (allot out of my price range), the Hurricane 550 (a little out of my price range), and the Blade 400 PNP (right about the right price). Of these I'm debating between the Hurricane 550 and the Blade 400. I'm really looking for a larger and much more capable heli. So now the question is, do I try to save up for a year to get the t-rex, a couple of months for the Hurrican 550 or is the Blade 400 going to out perform the Belt-cp to the point that I am happy? What is everyone's take on all of this?

O yeah, I'm just now making coordinated turns with the Belt-cp but will have all summer to work on some basic aerobatic/3d flight.

i have a hurricane 550 and its really great... there are like 4 at my field and they all fly good... the difference is the gaui is a little bigger and you can make it toned down and fly 12min or you can make it a 3d monster... the trex is good for 3d and its really stable for its size. the blade 400 is a good heli but it needs some upgrades.... i would suggest the hurricane because its extremely cheap 2 fix and you can change it to however you fly

i would suggest either a 550 or the trex 500, but really you can make the 550 have as much or as little power as you like and it would last you for a long time... i tend to get bored of small helis for some reason and i have the long boom conversion and short boom conversion for my 550... so you can either use 500mm blades or 550mm or anything inbetween. plus ive been looking into getting a trex 500 but i noticed most people say when they crash its at least 100 bucks which is alot more than the 550 cost in a normal crash... but its just up 2 u.

also look at what ur lhs carries spare parts

I don't have a LHS, the closest one to Starkville Mississippi is 2.5 hours away. I did not mention that I am looking for something I can get as an Kit and get flying for around $500 total. I would also like to be able to use the same 3s 2100mah 20C lipos i have for my Belt-CP.

well at that price the hurricane would be your best bet... and its extremely cheap 2 fix and alot of websites carry parts so they go on sale all the tim... the trex is nice but way off ur budget

How may amps are you guys pulling from the batteries in The Hurricane 550 with the stock 950kv motor? If I run two 2100mah 20C batteries in series to get 22.2V I'm still limited to 42amps right?

Theres a guy on e-bay that is selling Hurricane 550 combo packs that has everything needed to get it flying minis TX and RX for $385. I'm looking at geting one of these but was wondering if a Telebee gyro and 4 Futaba s3001 and two 2200mah 18c lipos would fly this bird well.

Would that set up work?
