But it's not the type of expo it sounds like you may be thinking of. It's not expo like you add to the cyclic controls.

i did all my setting on mt t rex 450 v2 with the swash expo on

then i disable the expo wen i disable the expo the 3 swash servo
went down about two degree

then i went back to expo and all tree servos went back to neutral

the manual is not clear about that
despite that the dx7 is a great transmitter

EXP takes away interaction when you use 120 degree swash, so for your T-rex you should have it set to ACT.

To be able to counter-act the interaction (due to servo circular movement) it need to lower the overall pitch/throw, you need to raise the Swash mix values to get same throw.
