Hi guys , I am having a little problems with my Radio DX7 and receiver which sometimes take for several turn on and off to link, Just today after flying 3 times and after refueling I did turned on the radio and then the receiver and there was not response from the receiver...Why I dont know, turning on and off the receiver and the radio until finaly linked with no problems at all, there were not gliches or any wierd behavior, just the misscomunication between radio receiver for like 5 minutes. Any idea? I have tried several times after that and is just working fine
Any help will be appreciated

Sometimes if you rebind it helps. I can't give a reason why though. I have also seen this happen if the transmitter is really close to it as well. It is like it gets to much signal. Also does your receiver have the quick connect upgrade to it? That could be another thing that is happening. I am not sure how to tell on the newer receivers but if you call Horizon they could tell you. Hope this helps. Chuck

Try what cwright suggests.

Also try this:

Turn on the TX first and then count to 10 hold the TX at least 4 feet away from the heli then turn on the RX.

Give it a try.

Mine does that as well sometimes. But I have been flying Spektrum ever since day one. A bazillion flights now and never the least glitch in flight.

I've had the same problem with linking but just with my 7 channel receiver, my 6200 and 6100e haven't done that. I'me interested to know which receiver you had do the no link thing.

SNAP!!!! I hate it when it happens, I notice the 401 gyro light on my 600E flashing, turn RX off, then on again & it locks....sometimes I have to do this several times, once I even had to rebind, which can't be right surely? Seems this is a common problem many are having, maybe we should all contact spektrum for an explanation? The more pople that email them, the more likley they are to agree something isn't right...wish I had bought futaba now

I turn on the rx and the gyro won't initialize once the rx lights come on I reboot and all is fine afterwards.

on my older ar7000 I dont have any issues.

Make sure the switch that controls the gyro is in HH mode and rebind. The 401 should initialize all the time.

If it was not in HH when the bind was done, then the 401 may not see the HH gain value because until the Rx connects to the Tx the gyro may see the fail save value. The fail save value is set at bind time.

The amount of time it takes for the Rx to connect to the Tx is variable, therefore sometimes the gyro sees the rate mode value and sometimes it sees the HH value if the fail safe is wrong.

Already done that from day one, had a very experienced flier also check & he see was fine.

My AR7000 had the same problem. About 1 in 10 times it wouldn't link without cycling the Rx power. Then yesterday after a few flights, it wouldn't link at all, even after resetting it 10 times.

Tried rebinding it, the bind process worked just fine, but it still wouldn't link. LED's worked normally if I turned the Tx off and back on, but no servo movement.

Finally found while playing with it, that wiggling one of the antenna's on the main unit caused the LED to flicker and then it would link. Once linked, everything worked great and it wouldn't lose connection. But if I cycled the power, then I had to go through the antenna wiggle again to get a link.

Needless to say, I'm going to send it in for repair (it also needs quick connect).

Kinda scary though!

Right guys here's what has happened to me recently. After having all the binding problems I phoned tech support at Horizon (UK), the guy told me to try rebinding but with the TX quite a distance away, which I tried about 10 times & no joy. so I sent the receiver back for repair. They sent me a new receiver as the old ones main unit was duff & a note saying"Make sure it is soft mounted"!! Cheeky sods, it was mounted with a 401 gyro pad previous to the fault. So guys just make sure there is plenty of soft support/pads under the RX..NO cable ties are anything & see how you get on.

Regards
Ross
