Anyone have any info on rebuilding the S75 servos? I picked up a couple of replacement gear kits from the LHS, but they have no instructions. Figured there would be something online, but I haven't found it yet. I'm sure it's simple, but if it can be screwed up, I'll find a way, so I would prefer to read the instructions first.... if only I could find some!

Many thanks to a great group!

remove all gear out. try to remember which ones goes where, use a soft tooth brush and clean off all the grease and plastic parts might be stuck in there.

Do not grease the gears yet. Just put the gears in make sure they fit good. Gears only goes in one way, pretty easy.

spin the smallest gear and see everything is nice, Then remove all gear and grease them and put them back. install servo on Rudder channel to test.

Thanks Zaw

Any particular type of grease? Vaseline?

Do I need to center the servo prior to rebuilding? I see that one of the gears has a stop on it, that's what has me a bit flumoxed.

I always center the servo and try leave it there during assembly. Not sure if this helps but it couldn't hurt. A couple little tips I figured out for servo building....

Lay out a towel and line up all the gears as you're taking them out being careful not to flip them over. That way there's no upsidedown stuff going on.

Wash parts that are being reused in a bio degreaser that is safe on plastic. Usually I just use a tea strainer (can find em at wall mart 5 bucks for a ping pong ball sized stainless steel cup thing) under the kitchen faucet. No mess, no lost parts.

Use a light lithium grease. Easy to find for cheap at a bike store (pedal). NOT WALMART or department store stuff, that's all crap. Get the high quality stuff. I reccomend "finish line".

Don't use vaseline. It has a funny way of reacting with plastics and rubber in weird ways when you'd least expect it.

Thanks for the tips

Really good ideas speeddemon, I like the tea ball trick. Have to remember that for washing other little odds and ends.

Amazingly little info on this. I was really hoping to find an exploded diagram of the this servo. Still looking. If anyone's seen such a thing, please post. If I come across it first, I'll do the same. Would be helpful.

thanks
