Whats the best recommended head speed for the Intrepid? Heard Chris mention 1700 but didn't know if he was speaking of the Intrepid.

sounds good to me. the slower I go with rpm, the more tail I noticed I need or should I say tail trouble I run into. I run 3-4 degrees of pitch with 700mm blades and then adjust the engine accordingly. I am usually hoving these beastly engines at around 35 to 40 percent with this. I also have a hansen motor but I doubt the stock one is much different in hover.

I was running 1750 with the G23 with 6.43 gear ratio and it was performing nicely. I know this is above what is reccomended for engine RPM, but it seemed to like it there. I ran many gallons through the G23 at that with no ill effects. It was running 32:1 Klotz and regular unleaded.

How about w/ the G26, same?

I have the G26 not sure of gear ratio, but its what came in the kit.
Hey Malorie how's the canopy coming?

I have just fitted the carb from a RC230 engine to a stock G23 in my Bergen Intrepid and the apparent increase in power is great. I have only had 2 flights because of high wind (the weather - not me) but with 710 blades and 1700 rpm, it really scooted along.

Yup, the G26 seems to like 1750 with the standard 6.43 gear ratio. It produces more power around 1650 but looses the zip needed for 3D stuff. 1650 puts it at 10,600, just above Zenoah's spec. for max HP. I run it there when I do more lazy cruising around and lazy aerobatics.

The canopies should be coming out soon (days). The molds are completed and the first production canopy is in Chris Bergen's grubby little hands now.
