Brunobl Senior Heliman Location: Pomerode, Santa Catarina - Brazil
| Just came back from the flying field. Ages of endless hard work have kept me from doing much flying lately, but today I spent a few hours with the Spectra and its new companion, a T-Rex 450SE V2. What a blast. Four flights with the Spectra and two with the T-Rex (still have only one battery, had to let it cool down, recharge from the car, etc).
Then a group of fliers showed up at the field. I didn't know any of them, they all seem to be good people, we talked for a while and one of them looked at my heli and said, "Hey, a Miniature Aircraft... WOW, is that a Spectra?!"
He had never seen one in person (I still firmly believe my Spectra is the only gasser flying in Rio) and seemed delighted to see it fly. The no-mess flying, the hand-starting, the cheap fuel and especially the on-board generator really blew him away.
It was cool to meet someone who actually knew about the Spectra even if he had not seen one before.
What a day. On my last flight, well into dusk, I could see a very bright "generator on" LED in addition to the VoltWatch LEDs. The Spectra was even more impressive with all those lights on (this was a first for me).
Came home with two top-notch helis in their respective classes and a big grin.
