Rotodigger Senior Heliman Location: Old Orchard Beach, ME ~ Vacation Land!!!
| Generally for learning to hover you'll want a head speed in the range of 1600-1700 RPM. The lower RPMs will give a less twitchy ride. Although I have many years experience racing electrics in cars I don't have a lot of experience with electric helis. If I were to guess I would say you would want a fairly mild timming (...say 0-20 deg advance) to keep the torque up and the AMP draw down and then use the proper gearing to put the head speed where you want it. If you can post some detailed info on your setup perhaps someone else here has some experience with the EP Line and can help you more.
rscamp: I hear that! I've burned out a set of brushes in one 4 minute race! ...but boy was it fast |
