| I guess the only sure way to not crash a heli is to not fly it. Sounds like you had fun anyhow. Like you mentioned, thats why we have backup helis. Err, and backups to the backup helis. And um, backups to the backup to the backup helis..... 
I got in the habit that unless it's a really soft ding to the boom or an issue totally unrelated to the main rotor, I use plastic grips and replace them anytime something involves the main blades.
Do you have any pictures of the Pantera? I am curious to know if a Pantera simply explodes on contact or is pretty rebuildable. I have only drilled a heli in hard once. It was a Raptor 50 and it should have exploded on impact but even it was rebuildable and I still have it.
