Hi Folks,
I just got a very good deal on a new RJX Extreme and have purchased some servos here on Runryder and would like to know if I should be worried about using them or are they plenty strong enough. The servos are digtal Hitec 6965's which are 111 oz torque and .08 speed at 6V and use Karbonite gears. I guess my concern is the gears. Are they plenty strong? I'm not a very good 3d pilot but am trying to learn and like to stick bang.

thanks,
John

Hi John,

I just looked up the specs on servo city and I think you'll be fine with those, I've flown other HiTech servos with the Karbonite gears and they are holding up quite well.

We are currently running Futaba 9451's in ours and the specs are 120 torque and .10 @6V so you are right in the ball park with speed and torque.

Go for it

6965's will be fine in any 50 sized heli.

If you want more torque, you can always swap out the 6965 gear sets with 6975 gear sets.

6965, 6975, and 6985 are all identical servos with different gear ratios. So you trade torque for speed.

Hello,

I'm using Futaba BLS 451 Servos on the swashplate. I love them, because they are very quick and also powerful. The gearplay is after a lot of flights nearly zero. I've also heard that the Thunder Tiger DS1015 Servos are also very nice. I'll test them in my electric powered X-Treme.

John2, my buddy's Trex 600N has the same Hitec servos with great results, i think you should be fine using them (i dont use them myself).
