Just when I thought I finally had a handle on my illness... I buy a Raptor 60 yesterday with an OS61 and muffler. Like I need another OS61?! So, how do I get over that little slip? I buy another Raptor 60 today! That makes 14 nitro helis. I need to get married so she can take the checkbook from me.I can't be trusted! Well, I'm off to fly the Tiger. I did my yardwork for the day already. Hope you guys get out this evening for a bit.

Marty, stick with the heli's, they are cheaper...

Easier to turn on, just flip a switch.

They never ask how they look in this canopy.

You don't have to listen to the mother in law talk about how much time you spend flying.

You get to do all the shopping and money spending.

And they make great listeners.

I don't know. My Trex 600n got so jealous when I came home with the Pantera that it killed itself! Nosedive from 100 feet. It was sad.

I had a wife. She was ok after 20 years and 40 planks. I drank the kool-aid and started getting choppers. I would crash one durring my learning curve and show here the munched beast. A kiss and "you can fix it" was the norm. What I did was buy a new chopper and fix the dead one. Now as all of you know when you buy a new one and don't transplant the spendy stuff you have to get all the support stuff. Ya know. Servos,RX,Motor.....The fleet grew very fast durrin my learning curve.
Nice thing now.
She got the house I got the cat and all my toys. A fair trade I think.
I bought my mother inlaw a chair for christmas one year. Too bad she has not plugged it in yet!

Oh God, I flashed on "she hasn't plugged it in yet" with thoughts of "Old Sparky", which I'm sure isn't what you meant . . . right?

when I got divorced, the first thing I noticed was how much extra money I had.

I poured it into airplanes. A heli too. What else is there?

Now I am remarried, 5.5 acres of flat pasture land around the home.

My own personal airfield. Never would have had that with the 1st wife.

Life is funny.

OMG Billm that's a funny!!! I too discovered I had a lot more money (budget wise) and after the wife divorced me. She was squirreling money away for years and made a planned exit for another guy after 17 years of marriage. She made sure she bought a new car first. Yeah, thanks. Within the first year she caught him cheating on her. hehe. She left him for 6 months and is now back with him. I don't think that train has stopped wrecking yet. Not sure what she expected there. If he'd help her cheat on me, why would she think that would stop?
Anyway, I feel like a kid. I can pay my bills and play with helis. I had only one before we divorced 5 years ago. I'm at 14 so far and I still have everyone I bought. Oh man, I wonder which one that statement is going to cost me?!

Squirrling money away????? Oh my God Marty, that must have hurt! I am really sorry for what she did to you pal. How horrible - though standing by as a semi-interested observer during the slowly progressing train wreck must be something of a kick and serve to help heal the wounds, eh? Anyway, I agree completely, i.e. just what did she expect from a guy who helped her cheat? I don't really blame the other guy because as my wife astutely points out, men are endowed with two heads but only enough blood supply for one! Nonetheless, he's a peckerhead any way you look at it.

Meanwhile, I knew a fellow who did that to his wife (planned exit) and he ended up with a skank vs. the very fine woman he had. Had I not been very, very happily married I'd have made a play for her following the divorce myself. Anyway, a friend of mine hooked up with her, and that was more than 15 years ago. Life is good for the both of them. As for the fellow who divorced her, he's on his third or fourth skank - I no longer bother to keep up as the friendship was with her in the first place. Stupid spouses!

Anyway, I sure hope it works out as well for you in the future as it did for my pal, and as it worked out for billrad as well. Good luck!

Warmest regards,

I finished raising my two boys and they are both Army Reserve now. One works fulltime with me. The train wreck would be a lot more fun if my 14yo daughter wasnt on it. Anyway, I do fault the other man because he had JUST gone through his own aweful divorce and has two kids my daughter's age. He should have known better and I've made it clear to him that he has a lot to live up to to ever earn my respect. He hasn't yet.

Well, since we're already off the subject, how about this...

Not many women turn my head uncontrollably. I mean, that just dont even think about it, caught my attention and I turned my head sort of thing. It's happened three times in my life that I can remember. Once there was this blonde, I dont remember the details. The 2nd one was a woman an aquaintence was seeing and introduced me to just before my wife filed for divorce. I was very happy for him and thought, what a lucky guy! It didnt last long for them. Like 2 months I think. Anyway, the third time was this woman I used to always see sitting on the front stoop of her house with her dog as I would drive past on the way to the airport when I owned the Maule M-4. That would have been the mid 1990's. 3 years ago I met my girlfriend through Match.com. Over time we have realized that it turns out she was two of those three women! She was the woman I was introduced to 5 or so years ago and she was the same woman I used to see sitting on the stoop with her dog in the 1990s! If that wasnt enough, a few years before my divorce when my brother and I were shopping for a class A motorhome, she showed us the Southwind she and her husband were selling. Our paths have innocently crossed so many times I figure this is a sign. We get along great and she doesnt mind the flying. Ok, last bit of info. He husband that she divorced (for cheating, no less) was a member of our flying club years before I came along. The guy who introduced me to her back when he was dating her is a heli pilot and a member of our club and of course I am a member of the same club. She has actually been to IRCHA and I havent. I live 10 minutes from the flying field, she lives 5. Yeah, things are working out just fine.

My ex did the same thing. She put money aside and let me pay for the house remodel.
Should of givin her the chair instead of her mom.

Weather forcast is for snow and lots of it.

I know what you are saying Bill. My ex had someone coaching her. Originally when she filed she tried to tell me I was going to be required to pay off the house and sign it over to her and that I would be required to set aside $30,000 for her next vehicle. At the time she had a 3 year old Toyota Sienna we had purchased brand new for $23000. I dont know where that $30,000 figure came from. In the end she sort of won on that point, she had hidden enough money before we "split" things that she was able to buy herself a new car anyhow.

Anyway, I really think you guys are using up way more than your share of the snow?! Man that sounds wierd to be speaking of snow in mid-April. It would be for around here anyhow. We're supposed to have rain all weekend so I may not be flying either. Like you mention, there is always something to work on.

I was going to give my four letter word speech on the whole marriage thing but I have decided to keep my mouth shut.

I have never been married thank god I have seen to many disasters called marriages. I have seen how so many marriages have ended up and decided that isn't happening to me.

All I can say is don't do it don't act like a tennis shoe Nike is wrong . I almost married a girl one time after we broke up 6 months later she was married to another dude when she got pregnant she hit him up for child support two more men and four kids later I'm glad that didn't go no further than it did. I almost married another girl but heard her on the phone with one of her friends she said quote "the only reason I'm with the stupid MFer I'm with now is he pays the bills and rent"

Me get married OH HELL NAW

Its not a maneuver until your looking down on it. ~Jason Krause~ Phoenix FF 08

I need to check the boards more, too many fun new threads!

To keep the thread honest: Marty, just let us know when you have a garage sale from heli overload, we'll be all over it!

To chime in: it was when my 'practice wife' said she needed some space to 'find herself', moved in with a friend, then they moved to WA together and I was told to get the divorce papers ready that I knew it was time for my first Helicopter. I lost my wife, but gained a heli. I TOTALLY ended up with the better deal there. Sure felt good when I found she divorced my x-friend to run off with some other guy. At least it was easy for me, no real estate, no kids. She did take my A2 sirocco 16V though and killed it, wish I still had that one. I ended up with the 240Z, but at the time I needed cash and was overwhelmed by the dual webbers when all I knew was MFI, so I sold it. Hindsight being 20-20, I wish I still had that 240 and my original mint A1 scirocco. Well, I'd trade that 240 and my current fully prepped corrado to get my hands on a DeTomaso Pantera!

I'd give my take on relationships, but it's better over a drink (especially when my current wife is there to chime in with her own stories LOL)

well, I flew that original Heli yesterday, but my weekend is full of pulling bug engines and selling pickups.
