There is none.

You should be able to assemble the head just by looking at this image...

I assembled mine by looking at Rhett's image of his MJ2 head. You could also refer to the MJ2 manual for disassembling the regular head. I know this came preassembled but the manual has enough instructions to take it apart. You will need two hex keys of the same size to remove the screws holding the grips to the feathering shaft.

One thing I learned was disassembling the grips. I ended up damaging the bearings and had to reorder them.

You should be able to pull one grip out. Be very carefull here as there are two very very thin washers that could fall out. If the second grip is difficult to pull off from the feathering shaft DO NOT tap on it! You will have to heat the grip and shaft. Pre-heat your oven to 300°F and heat both grip and shaft for about 20 - 25 minutes.

NOTE: DO NOT PLACE THE ENTIRE HEAD IN THE OVEN. There are rubber dampeners (4x).

Get your oven mitts out!

Once heated the shaft should easily pull out. Becareful pulling out as the rest of the parts inside the grip will also fall out.

If the parts inside the grip falls out do not force the bearings back in if the grip has cooled down. You WILL have to re-heat the grip just like before and slide the parts in. Refer to the manual for reassembly.

Adjusting for pitch.

Now that the flybar is gone there is no reference point to adjust the pitch to.

I removed the black plastic cap from the head. The top of the head is flat. So I placed a flat alluminum rod on top and held it with tape. I used that to adjust for pitch.

Whatever stabilizer you're using always start off with the gain low and slowly increase until your heli begins to oscillate. Bring the gain down til the oscillation disappears.

Hey Ros!

I wonder why you do this work better than the producer, you should be an engineer and not a photographer

Which stabilization system are you going to use for your flybarless system?

Congrats!

I feel so special, I started a thread with flybarless. I'm very curious to hear all your results.

Thanks

I appreciate the response. My kit was only the head and linkages. It didnt have any black blade grips. I use the standard MJ2 grips and bearing assembly right?

Yes just use the standard grips and it's bearings. The black grips I saw from Rhett. Minicopter sells them. I wished Gerd would make a black flybarless head as well...

As Tony asked, which stabilization unit are you going to use?

My kit appears to be wrong. I purchased it from Fx aeromodels. It is missing the lower spacers that connect to the swash. Here is the link to the picture they show. This is what I got. Maybe for a different minicopter nmachine?

I have been using the HC professional.

That image from FXA is missing some parts!

4 plastic ball joints and the 2 stand-offs that you mentioned.

No there is no other flybarless head for the Joker family.

Inform both FXA and Gerd right away.

Nooobs, you might like to make one similar to this, a digital display glued to an old Robart gauge. You won't need to alter the MJ2 head to give your horizontal reference.

The bent shaft above it is my MJ2 feathering shaft modified during a recent mid air collision.

Say that's a great little tool! Much better than me eyeballing the pitch by lining my pitch gauge up with a window frame behind the helicopter ... lol ...

I have never flown a rigid head. Is there anything I should watch out for? WHat is the main difference. It looks like the servos will be worked harder in this setup. Any suggestions for the HC pro and this head?

You will find that the swashplate doesn't have to move nearly as much, so either reducing the throw of the cyclic servos, or moving the pushrods closer to the servo output shaft would be advisable.

Am sure others will add more

I don't have a flybarless head on the Joker yet...but still...I need one of those little digital gauges.

Nice!

RE: Flybarless heads...there are two styles I see...one better than the other?

the flybarless head posted by rerazor looks to be from the mini-joker, the mini-joker flybarless conversion is different.

Yes that is for the Mini-joker, has the same size spindle and main shaft (I think) as the J2/MJ.

I was just messing with nooobs.
