| New OwnerAfter a 9 year hiatus, my buddies got me back into RC helis a few months ago. I flew X-cells and Schluters. Learned to fly a Baron 28 without a gyro. Had a GMP Cobra, many Champions and X-Cell 60s. The last thing I flew was a X-cell Pro and a Raptor 30v1 with JR equipment and a CSM gyro, which at the time was a good thing. I gave the X-cell away last Fall to my buddy because the OS 60 WC wouldn't turn over. I thought it was rusted in position. He broke it loose with a pair of channel locks and has it flying again and it is a very good flyer still. I have been getting my game-face back with the Raptor. It served its purpose to get the nose-in, auto and inverted skills back. 3D didn't exist yet except Curtis Youngblood. Some others did it too, but were terribly herky-jerky. The Raptor is still flying, but like all old war horses, it is a little long in the tooth. I needed newer equipment and thought about the mythical Aurora.
Last week, I broke down and bought a Synergy, YS91SR, SB19, 8717s, GV-1, GY611, DX7, and Duralite system. That's not all. I also bought a TRex 600CF, 8717s, GY611, up the BEC and ESC, Radix blades for both helis and all the Align bling and the Hyperformance hub and torque tube.
I read somewhere on this BB that Synergy parts are expensive. I think they are actually reasonable. The machine work and other qualities are very good IMHO. The bearings are Z rated Japanese. You can adjust the swashplate bearing like a Schluter or X-Cell. Not just pressed in. I really like the small parts count like Schluter and machine work like Miniature Aircraft.
I'll be busy for a while. Naturally, I enjoy the Synergy board the best. |
