It finally happened after much tought.

2x CSM 720 Gyros
Modified swash follower
Moved ball links closer to the servo arms
Delta is Zero (pic)
Im just missing my links to the blades, they will
be turnbuckles (MA) so i can get the tracking perfect
with calipers.

I was thinking of +/-15 pitch.
I will leave the ail and elevator at what they give and try it from there.

For my pitch gauge i will use the standar HeliMax with a bubble level on top, making sure my boom is level.

I will follow up later

Felipe

I've been wondering if it's possible to fit the shortened washout arms on the jesus bolt, and shorten the mast.

It works on the TRex 600 head but the arms aren't long enough to give the swash travel needed.

I cant remember at this point who told me or where i read it(i think it was curtis at a funfly). The blades need less pitch to do the same manuver but the blades travel and tilt the same way as with a flybar. So i would not try to shorten the mast at this point.

This idea also ocurred to me but i was not sure and i think its not worth it. You will end up spending more in spare boom and blades.

If someone else knows for sure let me know.

Thanks
Felipe

PD im still waiting for the links

Before shortening, try mounting a feeler gage made out of a cable tie. Mount this on the back end of the tail boom 1" inside of the main blade reach. It will be like a plastic rod on a bicycle spoke and act as an audible alarm for a blade strike.

This way, you will be able to tell just how close the blade gets to the boom. This will also work for helis with soft dampers to see if you need a harder damper.

im super curious in this thread. im interested in going flybarless. IMO flybarless is the next chapter. as electronics get cheaper eventually very soon they should start making the helis all flybarless with autopilot for beginners.

No i havent flown before but I did stay at a holiday inn last night.

First Hover

She flew allright. It was a perfect day for Gyros, wind 20Knts with gust of 35Knts. My mistake was shimming the engine for an extra punch but i didnt listen(if its not broke, then break it)

The flight was a short one, it was rock steady on aileron but had too much gain on elevator. I have to trim it down but did not have my laptop available at that moment. My engine quit about40 feet above ground. The blade inertia is incredible even without the flybar. Had pleanty of energy, in my excitement i misjudge the auto and had pleanty left. So all and all, it was great. I will tame the elevator gain and all should be fine.
Had +15-12 pitch. i still have to fix that. And take out the extra shim in the engines head to be back to normal.
