QuickWorldWide Ep and Wet Fuel Helis > Engine alignment with Clutch Bell on QWW 60 Pro

I had bought a QWW 60 Pro kit a while back when they were still available and I am completing the build now. I am having trouble lining up the clutch in the bell, i.e. there is no free movement of the bell because the clutch is touching the lining. Now, this happens only a certain positions of the bell. Any ideas how to align the two? I made sure the clutch itself was seating correctly on the hub (i.e. the plane of rotation is perfectly perpendicular to the engine shaft).

Should I bother with this or should I simply run the engine and wear out the lining sufficiently?

I actually use some sand paper of about 800 grit to "true up" my lining. You can spin the bell on the clutch shoes and see where it makes contact. You can then sand the "high spots" down until it runs more true. I will also sometimes take a caliper and measure the id in various places to see how close everything is to being equal.
I get the clearance to where the bell will spin pretty free and doesn't drag any. Usually when I start the first time, the clutch will grab right off and I will have to hold the rotor pretty tight. It will losen up within 2 or 3 tanks.

I know there are other ways this is done out there, but it has worked well for me and I get good life out of my linings and have never broken any of my shoes on any of the Quicks I have owned.

Happy Flyin..

Thanks. I will try the sanding and see if it helps.
