e-BEAM Beam E4 > Spare part costs

Like others, I'm thinking of switching over to the E4. I crash pretty regularly it seems, so replacement part costs are something to keep in mind. Are the E4 parts more expensive for the normal crash replacement items? I guess LHS part availability is also something to consider. TRex parts are everywhere. I've also been holding off a bit to see how the Bandit ends up looking and costing.
Anyone care to make some part price comparisons, as well as compare to the Bandit if you are familiar with both?

When getting spare parts from Advantage, they have almost always had everything I've ordered. I've had one crash due to a JR285 servo that burned up. It wrapped the flybar up and really didn't cause much damage even though it looked like it went in fairly hard under fairly high headspeed. This heli is really tough. Especially the boom. Much tougher than the Trex. I have been really impressed with the quality of parts, sturdiness of build and the way it flies. The crash parts cost is probably in line with Align's(no pun here) parts. Some parts are a tad more expensive (mostly head parts)but the quality and durability is top notch.

I own Trex before, I can say the chras parts are lesser then Trex. Also the part cost is cheapper then trex over in Malaysia. Usually, I get my part from oversea, mostly Singapore and not Malaysia it self. My LHS suck blood like hell.

You can certainly compare price online with advantage hobby. I have ordered several times from him and all piece were always in stock.

I'm still using the stock blades too after 4 crash I think... those are incredibly good

Crash parts price

Hi just did a comparison with ReadyHeli's prices and it was actually cheaper on many of the items. The only part that will get you is the frame sides. Since they are one piece, you will need to get a $20 piece instead of a $10 one like on the TRex.

Parts same or cheaper

Beam parts are the same price or lower that Align parts in every instance. In fact, some parts have greater quantities at the same price like the feathering spindles, where you get 5 in a pack.

vertical fin
tail blade
tail shaft
main blade
main shaft
spindle
little plastic that connects tail pitch fork to tail grip.

* tail casing where tail pitch arm bracket mounts can be deformed due to the bracket twisting during the crash. The step is not big enough to withstand the bracket twisting and will mangle during impact. Use CA or epoxy before assemblying these two parts.

Parts interchangablity

What beam parts are interchangable with the trex? Mainshaft, swashplate,....

Heard a rumor that Beam was going to make upgrades for the Trex. Any truth to it?

As far as the side frames go...
Don't forget they are thicker then Align side frames and therefore, you will not be breaking them as often!

We have yet to break side frames. But, we broke bottom plate tab (where the strut screws in) along with the strut.

Correction:

We broke one side frame when I forgot to tighten the mainshaft collar. It went from a hover to full negative pitch when the mainshaft pulled up. I never saw any heli go straight down from a hover that fast.
