You've never seen a helicommand or any other type of 3-axis stabilized system have you?

Here is a video of a (basically) hands-free ascent and descent by a Spartan AP2000i equipped Trex 450 using collective only. This is not a trick...

sorry to be such a noob, but...

I know of the helicommand, but what other rex 450 compatible stabilization systems are available here in the states?

I searched and found the spartan, and copilot, but if I understand correctly, the copilot wasn't compatible with ccpm and 2ghz systems. I am running spektrum dx6/ ar6000.

thanks in advance

It is that kind of stupidity that draws Negative attention to us Heli Pilots. Yes people can get hurt no matter how careful they are, or how much precautions they may take, but doing stupid acts like that and posting them in public forums is just down right stupid.

True. I never considered am electronic stabilization system. Those cost about as much as that entire heli don't they? I assumed the easiest---another pilot.

The basic version is $499.

I've got one on my aerial photography heli and love it!

Although I don't use the position hold function (which was used in that video) because that only works up to about 10ft. However I do use the horizontal stabilisation function which helps stop the helicopter from drifting - very helpful when taking photos

The second video with the cam ship, you wanna watch you dont get that into vortex ring! looked a bit shakey on decent, you'll smash the thing to bits if you ot careful!, looks a great heli and bit of kit!

I guess people do it to get a buzz. Or they do it just because they can.

I can't see anything clever about the nose-in 'touch' video. If it was safe due to the helicommand then there's no point to it. How can you get pride from 'flying' a heli that is greatly stabalised by electroncis

I agree with using it for photography or for some greater use other then just flying for the fun of it.

LOLOL I hope his helicommand came with a spare finger in the box so he can pick his nose after he cuts his finger off
